The mono is 48" with lots of room, EASY! On the HOR it was very tight and I used JB weld.

I have been wanting to get a pair of those water pickups also. I am not sure about the tube facing forward and the shape of the back of the scoop though. I think the plastic version has more of a scoop at the back of the pickup that would tend to force the water up into the tube better I think I may get a set of these metal ones and try them out.Comment

Just remember that these pick-ups are for LARGE bore silicone tubing and not "normal" size fuel line tubing we normally use...Comment

Hey Tom, Come on and get that cat going, I hope to see it run this summer. I think that as the boats get faster and faster we are going to outgrow the pond in Amherst. Yeah my wife gets really pissed at the time and money I spend on "stupid toys". She keeps saying I have a problem, yeah I have a problem
deciding what to buy or build next!
Take care,

Ha! Sounds familiar Mark.
You will see this cat run this summer. I'll bring it up to work out the bugs. I can't belive you guys can still run in Amherst. That youtube video from the end of the year is nothing short of amazing. I hope you don't mind if I post the link http://www.youtube.com/user/tomstoys...28/9Hr41IZMNWU

I saw some like the MHZ but had a round base rather than rectangular. That way you just had to drill a round hole in the hull. I found them at Jims RC Boat Dock Forum. I had to do a search on the forum. As I remember they are more spendy. Think it was about 30 buck a piece..? Someone on that forum was making them. If someone finds them on Jims forum, please post the link here. Thanks!Comment

I run those same style pickups (got em from MHZ too!) on my EKOS for the ESC cooling. They work pretty well. Mine are plastic though, and Im sure alot smaller. I modified them a bit to pick up more water and make them flush with the bottom of the hull, but judging by the 6" stream of water shooting out of the sides of my hull, I think they work well...

Have a look to HOTR specialistComment

I got them from HOTR Specialist on Ebay. The water pickup are for Large size tubing however. The "normal" size tubing we use does fit over them but I don't know if that's wise to do.
Ordered a bunch of little things like rubber pushrod seals, water outlets, y harness for radio to ESC, SS pushrods.
I got my 2nd motor and couplers from Steven last week. I just need my ESC's and props but I'll wait till last to get those. I think I'm going to have the boat painted before I start to build. They are slow this week and I want to take advantage of that.Comment

I need to buy a radio for her. I'd like to make the jump to 2.4GHz. I've read the thread
http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ghlight=2.4ghz
It sounds like I might have an issue with the antena running inside a carbon/Kevlar hull. Futaba, Airtronics or Spektrum? Do I have to go with an external antena?
All my radios are Futaba AM 75MHz.
Thanks,
TomComment
