A 10XL should work fine on 4s-5s. With the right prop you should be running pretty well.

        10XL with 4s, 642,445,645 for sport running
10XL with 5s 442 faster but watch for temperatures
10XL with 6s, 440 very fast watch for temperatures

In the "head of the river" thread there were some people using even the 9XL on 6s, I don't know if they do now and for how long.

Yes 5s2p, safer for the lipos (amp draw) and longer run times

You could. I would start out with 4S first. When running 5s2p, check the motor and ESC temps after the first 30-60 sec. of running. Start out with a smaller prop like a X637, X440, or X640 and check your temps. and work from there.

Thanks for that guys, Great info!!! :-)

Whem taking temps, I know from engineering that temperature can vary depending where you take it from, So where exactly should the measurement be taken?

On the endbell of the motor, and on the FET's and/or caps of the ESC.

Hey! I'm just looking aroud on the WWW and found the HOR home page, I tought they were e-bay based!????
Oh well, I also had a look on e-bay and found the Dual drive, Does anybody know of any builds that have used them?

It's just a though but it might be very cool running twin motors?????
The spec's for the motors are:
2881KV electric brushless motor with water cool jacket for rc boat.
                  Specification:
                  Length: 58mm (shaft excluded)
                  Diameter: 27.6mm (water jacket excluded)
                  Shaft: 3.175mm (diameter) x 12mm
                  Voltage: 9.6V - 14.4V
                  IO: 1.3A
                  Max Amps: 38A
                  Max RPM: 50000
                  RPM/V: 2881

I think that would make them 3-4s's????

Dave I saw that not long ago. I also found this the same night I was searching around for twin cat parts etc. http://www.radiocontrolledstuff.net/...products_id=42
I almost bought the twin set up off ebay to rebuild mine but couldnt find enough "woohaa" about it to get me to make the purchase.

Do you knoe if it is any good though?
What do you think of running it on 4S each side?
Obviously keeping an eye on temp's as I go...

Not sure on the quality. People run the ekos on 4s per side. motors are the same kv. You'd prob need to keep prop size down on 4s.
