Yeah I am thinking about a pool test before I venture to the pond. I have another Ice 200 installed for tomorrow BUT I may hold off until the weekend to make 100% sure I have everything perfect. I may take the Pistix out just to make sure that didn't cause any problems.

Guys make sure those bullets are tight and soldered if you have a short when that motor is trying to find itself it will burn up your esc.

The Pistix converts the throttle output so that you can use a Pistol style radio on a airplane ESC.

Pretty much every boat I own that will fit in the bath has been in there for a float test, flood chamber testing, hatch tape down test etc also use a nitro handpump and plumb it to the water inlet to test the system under pressure.

Well I had a sucessful day today with the SprintCat. I was nervous to try another Ice 200 but it worked without a issue. Now I have to start finding the best prop for the hull and adjust the strut. I had the strut to high on the first run and it was throwing water pretty much straight up in the air and I could hear the prop slipping some. Turning is borderline insane, I turned the rate down to 60% from 100% and it is still turn like no other. I am thinking the rudder will need to be cut down some. I only ran it with a Octura 447 prop detongued and backcut and I would estimate the boat was running in the mid to upper 40's. I only ran a very short 30 second run followed by a one minute run and both times nothing came close to getting warm so I know I have a lot of room to work with as far as props go. Looking at the Data Logs it looks like the boat is pulling about 90-100 amps average and I had peaks of 142-148 during the two runs. If anyone is interested and has the latest version of Castle Link I can post the Log file. You can load the Castllink Graph veiwer and plug in the file.

Here is some data from mine with a x452 and x455. Still have some more tuning to do, but as you can see there is plenty of room to prop up for you. I have a x457 to try next.

Glad you go her going after the bad start.

Wow that X455 is pulling some amps! Have you done any work to the prop yet? What kind of speed are you seeing from the 452 and the 455?

Both props are sharpened, balanced, and detongued. As I said I still have some tuning to do so if I can free the boat up a bit it should bring the amps down. I'm getting mid 50s with the x452 and high 50s with the x455. Sixty should be do-able with a little adjustment.

Myself and two others here are running X447/3's on our SC 40's with 1526/1Y, 6S, with great success.

Well I tried a 447/3 blade and a X450 prop today and the boat seems to be pulling some amps. With the 447/3 it seemed to run the best but was faster with the 450 prop. I can tell this boat will end up running the best with a 3 blade prop in the end. It looks like my 6s1p setup isn't going to work so I am going to have to do some work to fit the 6s2p10000mah cells that I will need for this setup. Twice today with the 447/3 blade prop I hit my LVC that I had set to 3.4 volts per cell. Looking at the graphs I am starting to wonder if the values may be a little high. I did read on RC Groups that some guys are comparing the Eagle tree to the Ice data logger and finding that the Ice is up to 30% higher. After a minute run the cells are about 125*, motor 105-110* and the ESC was showing 146* on the log but 110* on the case. Highest speed today was ONLY 45mph with the X450. I am hoping that once I prop up it will free up the boat and actually run cooler and faster, that is what I have experienced in the past with other setups. Neu's seem to need the right prop to work their best.
