Thanks, Ray! I've been contemplating whether to use my 1527/1.5D on a Sprint Cat 40 or Phil Thomas SS45... I am thinking of getting a 1527/1Y for the the Cat, and delegating the 1.5D for the hydro. Either way, I have the Castle 240HV New in the box. I've been so busy, I took a year and a half doing other hobbies - building audiophile speakers and tube amps... I am trying to get back in the RC boat groove this year, since I have many bare hulls just waiting to be built - but no time! Your builds have always been an inspiration.

It looks like I'll have to order the longer Speedmaster strut from Rossi?...
You did a nice job of sealing up the rear valence. I am wondering if I should use the classic cowl to simplify construction?...

I would have prob went for the Classic hatch but I got a deal on the turbine version. I am going to buy the clasic hatch and hack it up and make it more CAT LIKE.

Here is what I ended up doing to secure the hatch. I used Thumb screws with rubber washers underneath to keep out the water. Of course the hatch will be taped down as well.

Blind nuts on the hull side

Ready for the water...minus the paintjob

Ohh and the ball links will be removed and the holes will be filled once i am ready to paint the hull. I planned on using orings to secure the hatch but the thumb screws worked much better.

One final step before todays maiden voyage, I had to add some weather strip to the hull just to make sure its sealed good. Keep your fingers crossed that the first run goes good.....my stomach is always in knots on the first run of any hull.

Yep it balances perfectly. I have it set so I can move the cells and balance between 33-35%. If I need more weight up front I can always add weight, but I doubt I will need to.

Mine balances at 11 1/2'' from the transom aslo, seems to be perfect. I've only had one blowover but that was going into a stiff headwind.

Let us know how you make out on the maiden voyage. There are a few of us on here with this setup now so I'm sure we can help eachother out with tuning and prop selection.

Finally got to maiden the sprintcat today. .........not what I was hoping for. I do have to say that the ice controllers smell very different than the hydras do when they burn.
