    Coming along very nicely Simon!
I learned the "taping" method from you and use it when I plank my hull.
Sometimes I wonder whether the world is being run by smart people who are putting us on or by imbeciles who really mean it.

Here it is with decks on and looking like a Cat.
The canopy needs to be sanded to fit the hatch deck and a ply dress skin needs to go on the transom.
Now is the long process of sanding and smoothing it all. Sealer needs 24 hrs with the we weather we have now and then the Varnish needs to go on later.
This will be 2 weeks to water at this rate.

This is deffo a single at this stage. I need a home for the 7XL and I can drop twins in this later, like next year.
Outrunners are high on the list of suspects for power as the torque roll is negated by twins and the power is astonishing from what I see and read.
Let's get this one wet first as see what happens from there. I have a lot of sponson bottom development to do first too.
The initial plan is to run it as is.
Then in come the 0 deg (deadrise) ride pads and possible outer water strakes.

I have a lot ahead of me with this hull before I go twins. I might just have to do a mini size Cat and throw a set of small outrunners in there to quench my twin thirst.

One hull at a time for now.

A bit more progress, The weather here is not the best to get varnish on wood and I am not entirely happy with what I have so far.
This one may get painted afterall.

On a happier note the man in the yellow van arrived and gave me a box from AndyM.
The contents are shown and will find a home in this Cat.
This hull WILL get wet next week and the the bottom research will continue.
At the moment we have a moderate deadrise with no strakes or flat ride surfaces, just the 3 deg steps.
I'll wet it and run it and see what happens.

              Todays pics.

the props don not look counter rotating, are you going to use it anyway and deal with the steering issues as they show?
It was very nice of Andy, cool guy...

must make it a lot easier to build boats when you are getting batteries and props donated.

Anyone got a Shultze ft 40.160 they will donate to my 1/8 scale project

Jesse Here are a couple of belly pics. At the moment I have a moderate deadrise and 3-4 deg AoA steps. I will add strakes or flat ride pads later if they are needed.
Jan Counter rotaters are not needed, this is a single.....for now.

Here is a bit more. The 2P adapters so I can run 4S2P if I want.
The internal layout so far. I need some more hose to finish the cooling circuit.
The stuff tube is made and will be fitted as soon as I get some more 062 wire that the lhs has on order.

I should get this wet next week.

Good spotting there Chuck. There is a solder filled brass tube into the single and then these are joined to the doubles. I use a big butane torch to get the whole lot hot enough and then flow the solder. They were jigged on a thick alloy plate for this.
After they cooled I reheated them to a point where they were too hot to touch and they held fine. I they get hotter than that running then I have a problem.
