Meant that Europeans buy European stuff usually Americans buy American

The Germans are miles a head on engineering... It was german scientists' who fled Germany who headed the American space race side against the ussr...

I don’t guarantee perfect fit, it needs trimming.
This design is based on what I figured out not on the original part

Those all look really good! That TwoFace boat is really something!

I think you guys are right that I should look at the Evolution 2 or YGE ESC's.

Elvish, are you going to run the water cooling jackets that are sold here on OSE?

Still some glare in these pictures but maybe they show up a little better.

Ok again, this is just my perspective, and I may be wrong
But let’s understand both designs, I’ve had very little experience on water-cooling in rc boats, but as far as water-cooling, I think I have a great deal of experience.
                  2010-01-24 09-47-47.515.jpg
I have been water-cooling computers since 2001, when blocks weren’t even available and I had to custom build every part, using car radiators and more...
                  Ok enough off topic.
The reason I mentioned my water-cooling experience is for the simple fact that back in the day, pumps were not that powerful, and to maintain a certain flow in the system required a lot of testing and thinking. One thing we used to avoid was 90 degree angles. Which is basicly the HOTR water pickup?
Yes it is pretty and yes it saves a lot of work. But is it going to perform like you need?
when I build a water-cooling project I can always feel the difference by pushing air with my mouth into the system, I feel the resistance, if I change the route of the water-cooling, I feel it getting harder pushing air, or easier.
And with 90 degree angles, I always experienced a huge difference in flow, as if I had blocked the airway.
                  rinning.jpg
Now if your boat was running like pic 1, it would be ok but the lower the nose is to the water, the greater the angle on you water pickup (HOTR) becomes.
And that is why I chose the custom tube for my water pickups. And I will put 4 of them. 2 on each side (each motor will have its own; each esc will have its own)

Elvish, are you going to run the water cooling jackets that are sold here on OSE?
I misread you talked about OSE water pickups, but the design is the same as the HOTR

I finished the concept am thinking for the motor support in drawing, and started building it in 3d, if you’re interested I will keep posting updates of it.

so the basic parts are created, now time for the cutting :)

                          Elvish,
I have been looking at those water pickups also. On the rectangular HOTR pickups, it looks like a combination of the right angle tube, and also the shape of the bottom of the oval pickup in the rear is not a "scoop". This none scoop shape would create a cavity that would not drive the water up the tube.
Looking at pictures, it does look to me like the plastic version does have more of a scoop than the aluminum version. Have not had my hand on them yet so its hard to tell from pictures. I think the smooth transition of the home made pickup is the way to go although it may be harder to install into the hull (for someone who already painted their hull like me )

How to remove a motor from these closed mounts ? ;-)

                                Malibu :

why worries about the bottom of the sponsons being scratched while making the waterpickups in it ???????
Scratches/damages or not, you have to sand the bottom anyhow.
