      Hi Doc,
Just sent you an email with my excuse for being late to class.
Those props would be good. Let me know how much. I hope the guy whose foot found the missing one is recovering from his wound.
Let me know what you think I should do with that 400/500 amp esc and no it wont fit where you are thinking.
If the wind ever stops down here there will be some boating news. I have boats waiting to try for some new personal records and cant get them on the water for white horses.
Someone we know cut the head off a duck the other day with his gasser. Sheep have more sense than ducks when it comes to FE boats. I have never gone close to hitting a sheep with my boats but I have gone close several times to ducks. Cant say I have hit an Elephant either :)

At last I got a boat on the water. I took my Xzess 2 to the lake this morning hoping to set a new best speed on a 2s lipo and the old girl did just that. I changed from an andym M545 to an andym M645. The speed went from 96.8 kph on the M545 to 102 kph on the M645. I am more than pleased with the result. Thanks for your fantastic props Andy.
        SETUP...
        Modified Xzess 2 hull, Turnigy nano-tech 2s lipo, Hydra 240 lv, Neu 1515 0.5 Y, andym M645 = 102 kph or 63.37 mph

Might want to ditch those Deans plugs, are they not getting warm?

I agree with what you are saying but I just do SAW runs with this boat and the plugs hold up fine for the few seconds the boat is on the water. I have experienced disaster with Deans plugs when I have tried to run them for any length of time though. Now that you have mentioned it I might change them to bullets as I may even pick up a little speed by cutting down on electrical resistance and thus being able to throw more electricity at the motor. The more I think about what you said the more I think I should opt for bullets.
            Thanks for your post Brydon.

it's the amps not the voltage that melts plugs, deans are rated at about 60A, so if you don't feel safe using a 60A esc, the deans will melt.
I aggree they will be fine for SAW runs, just not for a long period of time.
Might be a good idea to keep the deans plugs as it looks like you are almost out of room in there.

Chuck is right about the 2s thing but I have some tests to do on 3s yet and that is when this boat becomes interesting. I will keep the Deans but keep a good eye on the temps. All my other boats have 8 mm bullets but they all run bigger batteries.

If Amps are a measure of heating ability, why is your dad's electric kettle rated in Watts ?

                    6S@60A equates 180A@2S.. equates @1500W

If your solder joins are poor, that will heat the plugs .. as the resistance of Deans is 0.3mOhm.. less than 12AWG for the same length .. ergo wire will heat before plugs. !

                    thanks

The Maritimo arrived here with 8mm on 380s.. overkill 200A plugs on a 50A can !

I have had the solder melt on Deans plugs before. Not a pretty site when red touches black.

Doc I have been thinking of a home for the MGM 400/500. How does a modified JAE 91 rigger sound? The tub is about 36 inches long by 4 inches wide. Might have to make it a little wider and needs to be higher to fit that esc in there. A cowl over the esc area should do the job. Thinking of narrowing the tub as it goes towards the transom to create that tear drop shape that moves through the air so well. A big Neu motor and some big batteries should get it excited. A big andym cheese slicer to throw the water backwards and we have fun, fun, fun.

For the MGM, how about a dual purpose vehicle... work&fun ... convenient baton and coffee cup holder.. add lights & sirens.. a spot for the XS2 & equip.. suit you to the ground. Remove the low output power sys, and use the MGM and LiPo !
Woohoo.. you'd be the grooviest & fastest old fellow on the beat !

Due the size and weight the MGM(724gm) , batteries(3000gm+) and a motor(1200gm) . it would need be a large (Gas?) hull .
However, there comes a point when overpowering something gains o more benefit.
                          An XS2 on 2S @100+Km under $750 Vs a $800esc, $450LiPo, $400+motor, $800? hull+hardware+bits I dont see as a viable source of satisfaction.

If it was mine ( possession is nine/tenths ) Id sell it to someone with abundant foolishness wanting to fly large toys..

That done the trick. Find me a buyer. Would consider either cash or trade. Must be a lot of flyers in your area. (I am for real. I will sell/swap it)
The other thing to do with it would be to buy an aluminum dingy and a small Mercury outboard and convert it to electric and go fishing.

Anyone seen Douggie? Its been too quiet up there in Canada.
