Oh I am not parting with my Maritimo Doc. I love that boat. I have been thinking that a pussy big enough to slot that 400/500 amp esc and a big motor into would be a good idea though. I am thinking in the 90 to 100 mph area would be nice. Any ideas on what hull and what motor would get the job done. Not as nice as a twin but I have to do something with that big esc.
Speed is a product of energy allied with enthusiasm + available cash.
If it took 3.5KW to push a 3.5Kg boat to 80+mph.. it would take exponentially more to push a larger boat to that same speed.
More size = more mass/weight = more friction/drag = more batteries = more costs = less fun.
Plus.. the 'heart' you wish to implant into this Frankenstein cat of your dreams is 155mm high.. x185x125
That'd be a bloody big pussy to handle anything that size stuck inside it's tunnel .
IME big fat pussies are not fun.
I reckon a 25% biplane would be great fun.. plenty power for aerobatics.. handle well.. and able to fly short circuits suitable an older fellows eyesight

Actually, I like big cats but the Doc is correct in the cash aspect. I would love to own a hull built by the master of big cats but way out of my retired budget plan.....my largest pussy is the H&M Supercat M1.

The world today is the accomplishment of morons put in charge.. by idiots who pull their rubbery strings.
Cats(pussies) are available Doug.. but the choices are few
Astonishing how quick you can find an old model -old and wored out .. .. arrives free delivery with bags of extras , the late nights laboring away to achieve a near perfect finish with damaged goods ... wasted when stress cracks start to appear .. then one day it flies apart .. shi te everywhere ... and you scramble to safe shelter
Almost impossible to find.. the fresh fast variety.. fresh, exhilarating, crisp ..... expensive ........... !
To buy/maintain one of these newer models at the performance they deserve ... didnt you retire to get away from all that headache?
Im the type of guy who grabs an unknown.. dabbles around for ages in the workshop with power tools and many hours of hands on before taking her out for a good hard spin.. rolling in accolades if she's a good performer.
Tweaking this, twisting that.. all towards that perfect outcome.
Im also the type of guy who buries his mistakes in the ceiling of his shed.........
So how's the weather in Ca ?Wayne Schutte PhdCSE BaSE BaEE. Australian, & damn proud of itYOUTUBE
