Douggie, I think at this stage it is a matter of what I will die of. About 1 hour after the incident, where I lay face first in the lake breathing in muddy water and duck crap, I started to feel like I was getting the flu. I have been coughing up feathers and worms and bits of stuff that ducks pass through their digestive system. I am a bit worried that come mating season I will be found at the lake chasing all the female ducks.
I have developed the flu since then and just hope it is not Bird Flu

      Chuck,
You sound like me and operate on the "if it ain't broke, why fix it policy". After this issue I think that something is broke or badly cracked and I will follow Dr. W's and Andy's advice and get it checked out. Mate it could have happened when I was in the middle of the lake on my surf canoe. Those things tip over so easy.
If ever I do go to my maker this way, I want everyone to know I died doing the things I love most... FE Boats. Even women come second to boats in my life.

Simon I have made a few jokes on here about the incident but let me assure you I am treating it as a big wake up call. I have to weasel a nice little pussy off Dr W and see that run before I die.
Simon I read your posts and I know you are not far off my speeds now. You are doing fantastic things with balsa.
Speaking of Balsa I think you have another guy in NZ building balsa boats. A balsa hydro I think.
Speaking of New Zealand it warmed my heart to hear that they saved 9 from the brothel that was destroyed in the earthquake. A bit of a pity they sent those 9 sheep to the butchers though.

Some good news after my near drowning experience at the lake. My Spektrum DX3S Transmitter and my HTC Desire mobile phone were both submerged with me when I passed out. After a chat on the blower with Dr W I followed his advice. Both items were placed in plastic bags and put in the sun of a daytime and near a heater at night. As the good doctor told me I was able to drain the condensation out of the bags and thus drying the said items out. This morning I cleaned the mud off the transmitter and put some batteries in. It fired up like nothing had ever happened to it.
As for the HTC Desire things are looking good also. Dr W told me that the first thing that would happen to the phone was that the battery would be flattened and he was correct. If I put it on the charger the phone will attempt to start and I can even see the word Android appear on the screen but then it dies and attempts to start again in a few seconds. My guess is that the power from the charger is not enough to run the phone on. I have ordered a new battery and will have to wait and see if I am correct or not. Just though I would pass on the information in case some of you guys ever submerge some of your gear.

                        You've forgotten a few.
I said a couple days for the moisture removal.
I said place in air filled, sealed plastic bag, leave in warm area.. .. moisture shows on bag skin, replace bag, repeat several times.
Phone battery is ok, just needs full recharge.. attach to charger and leave 3-6 hrs for full cycle charge.
Do not charge until moisture removal bag action is complete else you may cause further damage to phone.

You young'uns always in a hurry.

A kid could have built them better. I will see what I can do with them. Thanks for sending them as they might be handy. I owe you some postage money. I will let you know when I Paypal it.
