I honestly can't put a degree number on the level of "I don't care" about the PATS or the play call on the 1. It was conversation.
In regards to that last play, I can see the merit in doing what was NOT expected. We used to have "give the ball to Barry". Most expected the hand off to Lynch. Probably NE was expecting it too. The pass may well have had a better chance. There was really only 1 foot difference between hero or zero on that catch.
Keith, I guess I'm naive but do you really believe the NFL will perform an honest investigation of a controversy that will make them look like a bunch of dumb a$$es? Same as PED's, domestic violence, bounty hunting. They'll even adjust the facts if they have to. Suddenly it's only 1 ball that was under. All better. "We never saw the film of anyone being beaten in an elevator". Nothing will come of deflate gate no matter what the truth is. The NFL has turned into the WWE. Entertainment first. Sport second.
If you own a bar and invite people to a "Superbowl" party the NFL wants a cut. I may get a bill for having typed that. It's gigantic business. These guys aren't going to take an honest look at anything that puts them in a bad light. Unless it appears that something will impact their bottom line the NFL will allow just about anything. They've shown that repeatedly. PED's is but one. "Oh no, we better pretend to care."
College athletics is looking better all the time.
