I know, right Steve?? This really sucks. Doesn't have ANYTHING to do with current admin policies, I'm sure...
This is really going to make racing more expensive this summer... Brian and I are making the Trek to LA (1,000 miles each way) next week, and many of us are doing it again this June... Seeing as I have to drive my Tahoe for the trip this June... at 16-18mpg... that's about $250.00 each way just for gas...
I'm SURE there is a quality reason why the prices are so high...

Leaving Thursday for round trip to WWVIII in Phoenix. Sixth year I'm making this trip. Roughly 900 miles all told. $$$$ !!!! Few years ago I sold my 10mpg pickemup & bought a new(used) 20mpg car just to ease the pain of traveling to races. Some wonder why there's not more racers on the circuit

And, there is definitely a 25+mpg car in my future. I would drive my 91 Maxima, but I'm already nursing it for all it's worth... 265,000+ now and I just don't trust it at this point for anything longer than a quick run down to Portland... Plus, for a Nats sized race, I can't fit enough in it, even traveling alone. Everything fits in the Tahoe... I'd really like to get an Outback or similar. Brian's is very comfy and gets us to LA pretty reasonably, especially when we split expenses...

In the UK petrol is around $9.70 a UK gallon, we also have to pay road tax on top of that every year to use the roads of around $220. That why we have petrol cars that will do 60+ mpg. Martin.
No, it isn't. But the obvious intent here was to blame the current admin. am I wrong?
OH, sure it is... just like it was the intent to blame Bush when he was in office...
However, with the current trend toward "Clean Energy Policies", which clearly are completely SHUTTING DOWN local oil production, how much is the current administration doing to HELP the situation?? Shutting down the pipeline project? Really?
Sorry, but while there were issues with the Bush administration for sure, they are paled in comparison to what is going on now, from an energy policy perspective.
Simply my opinion, of course...

Perception is reality. Come election time Obama will save the day and feel he did it all. Wait until we blow the sh-t out of Iran..or Somebody better get on them. They are moving fast and have been on Nukes.
That should go over really well. Let me guess, it's Bush's fault?
Well I wouldnt go as far as enabling the Anti Obummers with gas gouging but it does come down to the current administration interferring with something as simple as a strategic reserve. I dont care what political party is in power or past one for that matter of fact. Oil should have decades ago been deemed a strategic reserve in all facets of American politics. It should have long ago been removed from any for profit corporation interest and aligned with the common people and what they represent to the Business growth of America. After all. If the common man does not prosper how can the business man? Oh yeah. I forgot about bailouts. The common man doesnt get one. He is only forced to to by the will of others!
All that I know is that we are approaching 15.5 Trillion in debt and we have self centered morons running Washington. We have enough natural gas and oil to use here in this country alone but won't allow it. We lost $35 billion last year on .50 cents per gallon, gas averaged $3.50 per gallon. If we hit $4.00, it's another $35 billion, woops, there goes the tax money they stole from SS with payroll deductions. The policies are stupid in this country.
atm petrol in our suburb is $5.51US/USGal
Fluctuates 5-6 these last 2 years... and none our fuel sourced from US/Eu.. world market as managed by US bankers. ( 'b' or 'w' ? )
Who ever holds reserves will be the powerful nation.
We'll all be driving Asian electric cars by then, refueled by the sun !
