            Ahh geez...

            Nobody likes a sore loser.

This is getting ridiculous. This is no way to build trust in the integrity of the postal system, and it's not going to bring back any of the customers they lost.

Truth be told, I've watched as dozens (hundreds) of postal workers saunter around, like they are teflon through the whole 2008, 09, 10 years where everyone else in all walks of life got a reality adjustment (lower wages, or just plain lost their jobs). Their sense of entitlement was nauseating - watching them line up at the punch clock 15 minutes before the end of their shift everyday (who how early they actually walked away from their machines to go wash up and change).

Now after this...I just don't care that much about a couple boat parts. I'll find alternative ways to get my parts (convince the LHS to carry more boat stuff - that's good for the local economy after all). The less every Canadian needs to rely on this unreliable postal system, the better.

Wait a sec, so you are saying I'm being a dick for expecting someone to do their job? That they are paid VERY well for? hmmmm, if anything, they are the ones messing with bad karma.

Have you noticed that this sentence seems to come up in EVERY article that's written since the legislation....

"The back-to-work legislation forces postal workers to accept wages that are less than Canada Post's last offer. "

The posties can thank the union for that one. It's funny how they want to take it to the Human Rights Commision, when they themselves took away the emplyoees' rights to vote on the offer. I just hate how this is all being pointed at the corporation. Sure, they play a part in it, but it's the union's greed that's ultimately to blame.

My postwoman drops everything in a community mail box. She does not go door to door. Even on parcels that she IS supposed to deliver to the door, she just leaves a pickup tag in the mailbox, and then I have to go to the closest postal outlet to pick it up. She doesn't even attempt to deliver the parcel...wait a sec, that's her job, so now she's getting paid a high wage for not doing part of her job. Nice, wish I had employment like that.

Not to rub it in, but I've had more shipped items to Canada lost than any other country in the world. That very much surprises me. Italy is a close second.

Steven, do you replace lost packages? I know this is off topic but I was wondering what happened when a package gets lost.

If you piss off some "nancies", as you call them (classy one BTW), the least you can expect of them is to give you the finger.

Regardless of who's right or wrong.

Maybe one day someone will explain to me why you guys are so pissed off at them, just because they want more money for less work? EVERYONE wants that. Don't you? Are you pissed off because they have it and you don't? Shouldn't you be happy for them and try to join them instead?

They way I see it we all lost: they lost their demands, the corp lost lots of business and money, we lost "quality" of service. If you think Canada Post service was bad before... wait for it.

BTW, Steven just said what I was going say next: if you want to see REALLY bad post service try Italy, postman there are paid less than $35000/year and guess what happens to letters and packages without insurance? Letters and packages delivered in less than 10 business days? You're lucky if you're getting it at all.

I lived there some 30 years, in case you don't believe me.

But I guess we can do worse than that, we shall see in few months?

Thanks, I thought so myself too. That's fine if you give me the finger, but do your job.

Not pissed at them directly. Pissed at the way the union is making them look. It's been said several times, that posties would gladly take the last offer. It's the union that screwed that up for them. Sadly, they take the blame for something the union did. The money issue, what bothers me is that it's unskilled labour. University grads with degrees will not see the kind of money/benefits/pension these people are getting. But whatever, good for them for finding good employment. They should be HAPPY they have employment in the first place. And for the record, I've very happy with where I work and what I make.

Quality of service was gone way before this all happened. And there's the problem as well. So these employees are now intentionally going to slack off on the job, and work to an lower quality standard than before. Do you think any of them are going to be repremanded for it? Nope, because as soon as the corporation tries to fire them for NOT doing their job, the union will cry about it. That's where I don't agree with unions. They protect the BAD employees.

The customer has two shipping options priority(no insurance), expressmail(with tracking and insurance). Which they choose is up to them. So the short answer is no, I cant afford to replace lost packages if a customer decides they do not want it.

I have to agree with Steven once it leaves his hands he has no control over the transit of the package so why should he be held responsible for it till it gets to your door . I have been lucky so far with shipping mounts in the past with not one lost yet . It is kind of a crap shoot with the best you can do sometimes is hope it gets to its destination .

Canada post where I live has extreemly good service . I was so happy to see the sweeties back at the post office I made a special trip just to tell them so........

I haven't had any issues with stuff being delivered in one piece, but who knows anymore. I've got a package from HK and OSE on the way, we'll see how those turn out!
