Thats called Alphabet soup group incompetence. Plus 8 jets flying around crashing into sh** and you tell f-16's to stand down, someone has a lot of X-plane-ing to do. I stop drinking milk when my mother weaned me and never had a taste for kool-aid (Thank you Jim Jones). We underestimated the enemy. We as a country think that if we are nice, other countries will be nice back. It doesn't work. Man, will always try to dominate something, whether its a wife, a sport or even an hobby. A portion of us are creatures that want to rule. I don't think we can ever change that.

That's not entirely true. Many of them want to kill us because we are Infidels (i.e. we aren't followers of the "Religion of Peace"). We pay top dollar for their oil (check out what China ia doing) and they use the money to develop ways to kill us (Iran for example).

My point exactly when I say this is a planet ruled by the aggressive use of force. Didn't Cain and Able have some issues along that line? It's human nature; you will never change it; you can only attempt to control it.

I find these discussions very enlightening and entertaining. I get more info. here than I do from the news because I research the comments. Wouldn't it be nice to have a news organization that debates both sides with good info. to support their arguments? Besides, from my point of view, for the most part, the people here are more civil and intellectual than most I talk to.

What about 19 guys that flew airplanes into buildings? A guy with exploding underwear on Christmas Day? A guy that shouts Allah Akbar and starts shooting soldiers at Fort Hood? England is on a terror Red Alert. Our Homeland Security Agency says to expect an attack within the next few months. The Hitler of Iran is building rockets to carry nuke warheads and tells us to expect something on February 11. You can't be that stupid.....

How many other groups have committed terrorist attacks? Not all attacks were created by Muslims or Islamic extremists. You can look here on american soil and see many more attacks by groups. Only we call them "Gangs."

I would do away with the electoral college and go strictly with a popular vote. Elected officials would be held to all campaign promises or tossed out in 90 days. And no special privileges would be allowed - for example they would all have the same benefits (if any) as blue collar working folks. The same health, retirement, and social security rules would apply.

Initially that might seem like an good idea. Problem is, the media has too much influence on the masses. The largest networks could influence the public for their own or corporate agendas.
