As a testament of how strong these hulls are, my daughter accidently drove it straight into the shore. With all the grass that's along the side of the pond, she managed to find the one hole where it was bare rocks. All it did was scratch and chip the gel coat.

got the hardware mounted and am just wating on the CF to dry on the rails. i decided to move the motor back and put the esc in front of the motor. i am using a 7/32 stufing tube with no liner so i soldered a small piece of 1/4 on thte end to fit snug into the stinger... starting out with one of mark sholunds x447-3

Chuck looking good. You may want to bring that extension all the way up to the transome and put a couple more screws. It will bend in a tumble (at least mine did).

Ok, no more posting pics for you, ha. Cuz every pic I look at I'm like dangit I should have done mine like that. Ha. I suppose I could still do the 1/4 add on if I go .187 flex and no liner. Hmmm. Boat is lookin good! Love the green of course!

How about a different way to build a Rico ?
This is my son's "P" mono boat.

                  Hey Chuck!

Nice! I am actually going to build the same thing and same color. Richies boats are nice!!

I just wanted to ask you about the mount...is that mount (from Peter) custom made to the shape of the Rico hull? I will be using a Neu 1515 1Y and a Castle 240 (lv)...Do I just let him know what I will be using (boat hull, ESC and motor) when puting an order in with him?....Love his mounts! Beautiful!!

                  Thanks bro!

Not sure on Chucks mount, but his regular deep v mount is what I use. I think he'll need to know rail spacing, size of motor and v or flat bottom. Check out his product page and pm peter z. Great product and service.

i also just got the "v" mount and it is perfect. i think all the monos are within a few degrees from each other so it doesnt really matter...

TC is that a 29" or 31"? mine is going to be similar motor placement to yours. yours does look good with theat schultz though, i must admit... and wow those are some serious turn fins....

It's a 31" and the fins are dangerious, I keep sticking myself with them.
The motor, rails, wet well are offset to the right, it was a bear to build, all .140 carbon plate .
Hard to tell by those pictures, ya can see better in these.

Doug Smock and I had a chat about offsetting the drive to the right as Mike Martin recommended this too. I did mine dead center as I don't race ovals just sport running. Even with a 450/3 I have no prop walk.

You have a nice looking boat with some serious stuff.

just checking cog and starting to lay stuff out. i have cf shelves for the esc and servo/rec in the press drying right now. i burned a cc240 in one of my other boats and plan on using the one i had for this boat untill i get it back from castle so i have switched to a turnigy 180. i have heard alot of good things and use one in my cat with no problem. i will still use the castle bec just swaped out the controler. got the cog good forward and behind 28% with plenty room to move batteries.. still need to finish the edges of the rails and will start to glass (1" cf) them in next
