This I did not do, but there was no spark. when the battery was plugged in
I was running a turnigy 3S 4000mah 40C battery on a 3600KV supervee prop.
the battery radio and motor I know all were functioning properly.
the ESC did not heat up too much, that wasn't the problem.
9 to date in 2 yrs and 2 have failed. I love them. One, no idea what happen.. just started doin a studder thing.. resoldered everything still did it. The other, totally my fault. 6s on a 180, factory bec.. popped it and next run the esc itself died. Can't blame escs for user error.
The $20 esc deal is a good deal but, in general you are going backwards from Turnigy to SS esc's.
Fightercat Racing has an excellent esc for $54, 140 amp, small and tough as nails!!!
it's on the way
the setup in this boat has been changed to the FC 2000kv outrunner on 5S. i'm gonna start with a 40 mm prop because I was using SS 200's and they weren't stone cold, i was running a 42.
Ive had 2 swordfish 200amp esc' without bec on 6s pushing x447 twins and i have blown two in less than 5 seconds.. no shaft friction, no water, no bec.... I'm thinking they are crap!!
