Good news...
Those are "split tops" - the bullet in the square side of the connector is the clue.
Here's what the Dynamite \ E-Fright (they were developer's of the EC style connectors) style looks like... http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...&I=LXJPY4&P=ML - I call those bird cage connectors...
1. Because the vertical runners make them look like a bird cage
2. They're cheap crap (quality wise), those runners break off - what did the bird say when his cage broke - any kindergarten age child knows the answer.
3. Much less surface contact area between the male & female bullets = less efficient. The split tops are the same style as the Castle Creations 5.5mm (or larger) bullets so many people on this forum recommend for ESC<->motor connections.
E-Fright claims 100-amp capacity for they're EC5's, if true, then the split tops should be able to handle upwards of 125-amps. I'm in the process of replacing the 4mm ESC<->motor bullets with 5mm for my lower current (up to 50A) single battery applications.
FYI: you can get the split top style EC5's in bulk from eBay, I paid bout $10 for 10-pairs, 10ea males & 10ea female's plus the blue housings - USA seller.
