I know you said no to my Herzog but if you're looking for a rough water boat its way better than a challenger 43 or 48, (I;ve owned 5 43's and 2 48's). This hull was actually made by Aeromarine, he laid up the hurricaines for Herzog for a couple of years.
As a new member on doing research on the Challenger 43" or 48" FE I came across this thread. I had noticed you said FDM was about an hour away from where you are and you're from NY, so that got me thinking, it's all coming together now. I have an old FDM 32" (31.5") ABS deep-vee hull (electric) I purchased used from a local hobby shop back in the day, ran it a few times, and put it on the shelf until last week. I've had it for a good 10 years and loved it. The seller at the hobby shop said the hull was FDM, been to their site numerous times in the past 10 years, but never actually clicked on the "Contact" button to find out they are 50 mins away from me! That helps me out tremendously because I want to check out the two boats in person; Challenger 43" and Challenger 48" Pro!

Anyway, thought I would share that little tid-bit, albiet off topic, carry-on!
