I have had 2 rc boats a v hull electric which I modified until the plastic props would break off from the stress and a Prather hydo with a 7.5 cc K & B gas outboard. Both I have sold. Looking to buy a 48 pro challenger mono as I want to run it on the St. Lawrence River which is not always the best conditions. Of course I want to go with electric power, the best lipos , extra set of batteries, extra prop, charger and an excellent radio. Would like to reach 70 mph if possible. Am asking for your recommendations for someone who I could trust to build me a setup that would be fast and reliable. Of course I would like a written estimate. Would like to know the average run time and range of the radio. Thanks for the help, Dan DuFlo upstate New York at -14 this AM

I have a 44" Herzog hurricaine which would fit your bill except for a realistic expectation of 70mph, 60 is more realistic. For $2k you will not get a newly built boat with 2 sets of lipos radio and a charger. I'll do 1200 for my boat with a pair of 4s 6000's (8s total) it has a big leopard (cant remember the exact model off the top of my head but i'll let you know). Will include a Futaba 2.4 radio, has a Castle ICE2 HV200 speedo and heavy duty Hitec servo. All speedmaster hardware. This boat was run in 2 races for a total of 8 runs. Charger will not be included. let me know if you have any intrest, it can be run on 8 or 10 cell.We call ourselves the "Q"Comment

I will know more after next Monday what I can spend. Having a commercial real estate closing. I did see on another post an opinion that the 43" Pro Challenger was a faster boat but I wanted the larger one to handle the choppy water we often get on the St. Lawrence River. In any event I am looking for more suggestions from you folks who know much more about the high end electric boats then I do. BTW are you Chris Fine with Fine Design? Thanks, DanComment

Sorry, just wanted to find out dasboata if you were because I can't deal with Fine because of the feedback I have read on the net. I'm real careful after a $5,000. loss on a car purchased over the net a few years back. Like the looks of the boat you have pictured. DanComment

been dealing w fine for almost 10 years and never a problem, maybe because I live an hour away and I'm at his place every other month. I know people have had bad experiences though. I know you said no to my Herzog but if you're looking for a rough water boat its way better than a challenger 43 or 48, (I;ve owned 5 43's and 2 48's). This hull was actually made by Aeromarine, he laid up the hurricaines for Herzog for a couple of years. We call ourselves the "Q"Comment
