    Neu 2230 1Y For Sale (Used)

    Selling my 2230 1Y 725kV motor. $400 + Shipping Edit: NEW PRICE $300 shipped mainland US only

    Can add water cooling jacket and 5" rail mount for extra $30
    Pictures of the jacket are here: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...ead.php?t=7827

    The motor may need new bearings in the future. They are getting a little noisy, but not loose yet. Last time I ran it in my boat, it ran fine. I always used pressure bearing with this motor (not included). Motor shaft is cut a little shorter than original, I did that so flex cable coupler can be placed closer to motor's case. The shaft is 24mm long from motor case to tip. It fits Lehner 8mm to 1/4" aluminum flex shaft coupler and OSE 8mm pressure bearing perfectly. I got that coupler from Chris Fine at Fine Design Marine, but don't know if he still sells them. I took mine off this motor to reuse it. It needs to be heated with a torch (not too much, don't let grease on the threads smoke) to slide on and off this motor's shaft. Motor has OSE 8mm connectors soldered.

    Selling it because I want to use smaller 2215 2Y motor. It is half the weight of 2230 and should push my Thunderbolt hydro fine. I originally bought this 2230 for extra power headroom, but now realized I am just carrying unnecessary weight. I wanted extra power to go above 70 MPH, but after crashing few times at that speed, my boat cannot handle this abuse. So I am shedding few pounds and going to stay at 50 - 60 MPH.

    Anton, do you have any more videos of that Thunderbolt of yours?
    It's great to see that hull in action...
    :D
    You have kept this motor nicely, no rust anywhere, it looks immaculate.
    :::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .:::::::::::::::

      Best ones are on my youtube page:

      I have some more unedited footage, but it's not much different from above. I keep wanting to get HD camcorder, but the boat keeps sucking that money away...

          What do you charge to change the bearing prior to shipping?

                Here are the pictures of it mounted in my 47" mono hull as you had requested. Sorry for taking so long to mount the motor as I am working on my heli and didnt have much time.

                  Great job! Make a video of it running when you can. Try to bypass that bullet plug adapter between ESC and motor.

                      Test run it last weekend with the beautiful scene in the background. Can see the dragonboat rowers stop rowing to catch the action near the end of the video.

                      This is the only place I can run my electric boat legally in Singapore.

                      Not too bad, need to trim the stringer a bit and should be running much faster.
