John, the standard drive system was adapted to run an SV27 motor. That is the standard drive system, which is poor was drilled out to run this motor. I never ran it after learning from my peers even with modifying the prop area it was not going to cut it on Prather cat
I managed to get 6 good runs with my TS2 Tunnel before the bearings went south. It GPS'd at 36 Mph with the standard SV prop. Not bad for that little outboard. I just ordered one of the "ugly" lower drives as the replacement for the EP1.

Modified transmission, please explain, mine didn't hold up well with a Blackjack motor. The stock bearings exploded and the brass gears stripped.
What did you do to yours,,,,maybe I can adapt your idea and still use mine?
BJ motors are the only one mine holds up to.

i really enjoyed your thread about the ep1 outboard . did you ever get one and did you build something we could see. i dont sell out boards but i colect them . love tom share pictures and like the tech data that comes with reading these threads. bill payne
hi digiboy that is a fishing boat in fiberglass . i never finished it . had it for years. a glass shopp here in tampa built the real boat and i managed to get his mold for the model for a fiew days and made me one. . bill payne
