Your running only 1 8xl? A guy down the streat from me runs 2 9xl's in his e-max and that truck flies and has tons of torque!

1 8XL, truck will pull a wheelie all the way down my street, I have to stop because the court ends. It will run at least 8 houses on the rear wheels.

I tried a pair of 8XL's and it was slower, the motors need to be pretty well matched to run them the way the emaxx is configured otherwise the motors actually work against each other.

In the very near future it will get a NEU 1515 1Y, once the single motor mount is available. It will then get some 4s NEU batts as well and should be close to pushing 50 or more.

Im actually buying a e-maxx 16.8v too.....And I plan to go brushless. At first I was thinking I would do TWO sidewinder 5700kv combos on 2s1p lipo each. So I guess the truck would be a 2s2p truck.....

BUT then I noticed you said something about running a MM ESC with 4s lipo and a external BEC. I have a external castle 10amp BEC, and a MM esc and 8xl are cheaper then two brushless setups. Just wanted your thaughts on which you would think would be better. I know you said something about the motors being nice and matched, but I was thinking maybe cause they where higher quality castle motors maybe the dual motor thing would work better.

Yeah I am a electric MT lover too. I had a E-Revo, and a E-LST. Both had HV-Maxx's IMO the original HV-Maxx combo is almost as crappy, slow and lax as venom's entire line of batterys

having no experience with the sidewinder stuff it would not be fair for me to comment. I have looked at alot of the setups on the traxxas site and the whole 2 brush less motor does not give that big an advantage over a single brush less motor.

The 2 motors would need to be very close together as they turn the same spur gear. The weight of the extra motor and esc would take most gains if any away, again imho. You can also run on motor esc combo and a pair of 5000mah 4s packs which would make it 10mah 4s2p and have runtime forever! Plus I can run my NEU batteries even more often then.

So your thinking a 8xl is all the Mamba max is gonna handle on 4s1p huh? Or are you gonna try that NEU with it too?

4s1p should not be an issue, but you have the ability to run 2 packs so I would take advantage of that

Thanks Mike. I think I am gonna keep it to either 4s1p, or smaller packs of 4s2p. I wanna keep my emaxx lite, so I can race it against the nitro guys this summer :-)
