    Delta Force Hulls Notice!

I received an email reply from Samuel at Delta Force today, he was saddened by the fact that so many companies have stolen their designs.

I'm requesting that people that are selling Delta Force Copies. All hulls without the Delta Force logo inside, to NOT call it a Delta Force Hull.

There is nothing illegal about copying a hull design, it really takes a patent to prevent that and even that can be gotten around. right or wrong, it happens in all kinds of fields.

What you can not do is use thier name if it is thier trademark, so Steven is correct on that part. If you are selling a clone, use the clone name. Some clones are the same, some are worse, some could be better, who knows. but thier name really should be respected. Let the clones stand or fall on thier own merit.

And here I thought the "clone wars" was just fiction ;-)

just for the record... none of the minicat's are "minicats" they are all rebranded boats. the hydro's and riggers are tenshock and the velocity was for sale as offshore worriors long before jim got to them... this is a different issue though, it is not rebranding products as your own brand but rather making a mold and making their own. i do agree with steven in nobody should call them "delta force" hulls unless they were actually made by delta force but there is nothing wrong with calling them "delta force copys" because that is what they are. however i will respect the request of the manufactures and now refer to mine as a 29" promiss mono or maybee i could just call it a 29" MHZ copy

Thats true, but MiniCat has the blessing of the company that makes them.

                        Steven,
Are you the US distributor for Delta Force at this point?

I can never get a response direct from DF via email. I figure they have my name plastered all over the FE record page of the website, the least they could do is return an email. I'd really like to get one of the new 50" DF 90MKII's but can't get a response with more info.

As far as copying hulls, I don't know which came first the DF33 or the MHZ Tsunami. Both originated pre-Y2K. The newer DF boats seem to be originals and generally run better than the first gen DF hulls.

I was one of the first, if not the first to run the DF hulls in the US for FE racing. I like the DF hulls. Certainly won enough races and set records with them. They can be very hard to get at this point, especially if you want one of the odd sizes that Steven doesn't stock.

I remember the first copy I'd seen built. Heavy with hooks, never did run right.

Yes Brian I'm the USA contact for Delta. I can order you one. Shoot me an email.

I have Delta 29" coming in a few weeks.

I'm also ordering on a 4-6 week basis now. So things will come in quicker. When I first started Samuel wanted me to make large orders, but the large orders took many months for them to put together, I suggest we order smaller orders more frequently and so they cant ship quicker.
