    W.t.b. All Esc Cooling Plates.

guys I would like to buy any of the Esc cooling plates you may possibly have laying around. OSE is out and may not get anymore. I really would like 4 total. I could make them but for the price I have found things like those are easier to buy.

OR, if anyone has one of the OSE plates out, could you measure and post those. They work perfectly and if needed I will make them. I just put the ones I had in my sv and really dont wanna strip them out again, thanks

      Maniac,

If you are up to it... you can make your own plates REALLY easily with just a soldering iron and some patience... Here are the ones I made for my TS-2 w/ SV27 ESC:

A piece of K&S tubing and some K&S copper plate and you're there...

brilliant idea sir. I would just think the alum. solid plates would transfer more heat, or "cooling". If I dont find any I will copy yours! Thanks for sharing.

I do think that aluminum will transfer heat faster, but copper will "sink" more heat... Not sure which one ultimately works better, but these have served me very well for the last couple of seasons of me making my own... the idea is to draw the heat out of the FETS, then carry it away... I think these do a good job... You could use brass as well...

Not sure if this is the right way to look at it, but I liken it to electricity... gold being the best, followed by copper or brass, followed by aluminum...

Just my opinion... hope it helps...

Does this picture have the information you wanted? I took it a while back when I was making some hollow cooling plates.

I think copper is a better heat conductor than aluminum, but more expensive and heavier.

You know... another idea is to contact Castle directly... They may be willing to sell their cooling plates for the Hydras separately...

I sent an email to Castle. We will see if they even respond. I will post if I here anything. I would think someone like Steven would get a better response but at least I tried.

You guys where asking about copper and aluminum for heat transfer. I am no expert, but in the computer world when it comes to cooling processors, copper heatsinks and heatpipes rule. They always cool better, not sure why exaclty but it looks like the copper pass' the heat faster. I stopped using aluminum heatsinks years ago when I started overclocking CPU's cause they just would'nt cut it. I would think the same would apply to HOT period. CPU or ESC.

                            I would use copper myself.
