Good run today everybody. The new lake and the facilities were perfect! Thanks again to Brian, Ray, and Chris for working very hard on making our new home. Congratulations!!!!
Thanx to everybody, I think it went very well for our first day at the new lake. For those who left Ray, Dave, Pat and Myself set the rest of the turn markers, now there are Five at each end. This should help judging the turns, this bigger course is gonna take some getting used to, but so far so good I'm very happy with our new home... I hope everybody else is as happy with it as I am..
The site seemed to perform well for our purposes. Multliple buoy strikes that did not damage either boats or markers. Pat had the classic, sticking one of his Sprintcat sponsons into a bouy and couldn,t disengage. Self healing buoys, No boat damage. Cool!
Mostly upsides, the local community seemed to appreciate us being there. The gazeebo is not the best drivers stand, the blind spot created by the corner post is a big problem, but that is the only downside i can think of. The shade and facilities are awesome. Being able to store the recovery boat is one of the biggest advantages I can think of, Chris can go to Colorado at will.
i will endeavor to make the course NAMBA legal over the next few weeks, just tweaking marker positions.
Ray, I'm thinkin' that Nov. 22nd might be too close to Thanksgiving, but let's hear from everybody else. If everybody is game, I'm in... Hey I didn't think about it till now, but did anybody get any pics from today?
Well, I thought briefly about trying to make it out there after leaving the flying field around 10:00 this morning but didn't make it. Just too much to get done today.
On the good side, I have updated the contact and event pages with the new information.
If you have some time check it over and let me know of any changes needed or other attentions needed.
If Richard shot some video (I know he has a camera with him most of the time), maybe we can get him to upload it to YouTube and link it in?
For the first meeting I think things went very well. I would guess the winds were 15-20 MPH most of the day. Surprisingly the water was relatively doable but the wind was a killer for some good runs.
As for the accommodations at the site we could not ask for better. A few tweaks here and there are all that’s needed.
Let’s keep the Park Manager and residents happy.
heres a good one....I ordered 2 batteries from hobbyking last week and fedex delivered a beat up broken box with air bags for packing material and no batteries...after a hour on there customer service chat thingy, and sending them 5 pics of the box, they are sending me two more batteries....fedex really knows how to beat a box to death and of course fedex customer service was zero help telling me I should not have accepted the package (like I should have chased the fedex guy down the street) IMG_0393.jpg
