Yes it was a great time. Thank you to all who helped make the event happen and thank you to those who donated items for the raffle, Bill H (plane), Ted W and his club in Texas who donated the prop and Futaba radio and Dave at HRC who donated all the jackets and motor mount. THANK YOU!!! Also a BIG thanks to Brian M "mohsb" who was kind enough to donate his 50/50 raffle winnings to the club. THANK YOU!!!

Ill send an email out w/ our earnings for the club in a bit.

Also, there was a little discussion out there that we maybe look into doing this twice a year. Maybe again around late Sept, early Oct.
We did pretty good I think for our first go at it.

I think we would have done even better if the weather hadn't turned nasty on us. I was really surprised to see how many did come out and brave the artic winds.
It was definately a small craft advisory day on the lake.

It was a good time in spite of the chill factor! I'm glad the club did well and that my initial suggestion for the swap meet worked out!

I came home with an awful lot of stuff which is going to fill the swap shop here at OSE in the near future. I thank those few that were spending $$$ though!

I agree about two a year. You may want to consider having one at the height of the boating season....summer. People are more motivated to buy I think during the active boating season. Although we are blessed with year round good weather, we just witnessed what one cold day can do to 'chill' the turnout!

The summer is also a good time to do one because most of the airplane swap meets in the area are done in the spring. Try to pick a date that is separated as far as possible from the airplane swap meets. I think the club will do extremely well if you do that.

yeah thinking about it - it would have been great if we could have just run/demo'd some boats during the event. That usually gets people pumped up and especially if they have kids with them.

I've come to the conclusion that I need to win the lottery so I can retire. The weather was actually nice Tuesday and not bad yesterday. Today the wind has started to pick up. This weekend's forecast: 40% rain chance for Sat, 50% for Sunday with a 15-20 mph south wind both days.

Maybe the next swap meet should start later, say 10a.m. with some open boat running from 8-10. Or something similar. Announce on the flyer that boat demonstrations will be held prior to the swap meet. Might increase interest of buyers? Not sure. Worth a thought.

Don't really know for sure on the amps but can't make 8 laps at Ackerman on 5000 ma 6s 2p (10000 ma total) without it hitting lvc. The T180 esc has been surviving so far though.

That s what I ran in mine today with some decent speed finally. I'm timid about the 180 on 6s though, but everything temped under 120*F with a 448.

Don't know yet what the winds are supposed to be, but local weather (Fox) is calling for low 40's again this Sunday.
