Hugh, do you have your 1/10th scale ready to go? Will you be at Akerman this coming Sunday? Mike said he could make it, believe it or not. I'll bring both of my 1/10ths, OPC, LSO, LSH.
I found my 1527! It's a 1Y. That would run on 8S. Ray says my boat is too heavy for that. I need a 1.5Y and 10S. Hmmm, Can't afford it right now.Mini Cat Racing USA

Sounds good! I was afraid that by putting the new bottom directly on the old bottom, eliminating some of the depth of the strakes from the sponson to the transom, would rob you of some lateral stability.
See you there!Mini Cat Racing USA

Some of you expressed interest in my big Mono at one time. It is a 45" Herzog Hurricane complete with everything but motor, esc, and radio. It was originally Ken Haines' boat. It has the best of everything on it in the way of hardware! I really don't want to sell it but need to raise some $$$ for a neu motor for my 1/8 scale. I also don't want to have to ship it so will make a good deal to the club members first. Let me know if interested, I'll bring it to Akerman on Sunday. Asking $300 for it.
Here's a link.
Here's a pic from the Herzog site. It is this same color: http://www.herzogracing.com/userfile...ane_rfront.jpgMini Cat Racing USA

I just spoke with the lady with the County. She now there is a funding freeze on any construction, etc. So the steps are not gonna happen. She is looking at giving us a gradual incline and on out into the lake a little. She thinks they have materials on hand to do that. I turned her on to how the Gulfcoast club is set up with the rock walkway and rock dock. She is going to go there to look at it tomorrow if she can.
She is going to come to Akerman on Sunday if she can make it. Her name is Sue Whetzel. Be bery bery nice to her!Mini Cat Racing USA

Jim, per your request, I made a new audio cd that splits the pit time from the mil time, so we can advance to "track 2" now to save time. I need to pick up and audio cord that goes from a 1/4" mic to either another 1/4" mic plug or RCA plugs. Unless someone has one, let me know and I will get one before the weekend. Even w/ out it, it will only allow us to speak into a mic as well as have the audio from the CD playing so it is NOT necessary for the upcoming meet. We can still hear the audio CD and at worst case, we run one speaker to the PA and one to the CD player.
Brian and I were also talking after the last meet, between him and I, we are going to create a CD that we can follow to keep us organized and refrain from the constant "what are we running next?" We are hoping to create a CD that names classes/ heats and has count downs that allow us to run every 15 minutes. Hopefully this will help us to keep things on schedule and help as a training aid in other events we attend.
Now, are there CDs already created for this purpose? We figured we would include all the classses we run and the ones we used to run, ie Q offshore, and its always easy to add a class if we begin to run another. Our thoughts were it could just be a CD that we hit "PLAY" at 10:00am and it runs until we are done, only having to hit "next" or pause when need be.
The other option would be a general multi track CD that only has 15 min of audio on it and we keep re-starting it. We then would have a run sheet similar to what they had at the Nats to keep us in line. Either way, the sheet may be good to see whos running what and if we need to split a clas in to two heats. P-mono comes to mind. I kinda lean toward the "hit play and walk away" idea myself and create a run sheet to follow it.Comment

I also found this inexpensive scoring program we could use.
htd.JPG
It's under $25 and we can run it on a laptop. Here's the link.http://www.dadsfunpage.com/lapcounter.htm
It's for cars mainly but it looks like it could easily be adapted for running boats.Comment

Nevermind I just read it. Thats about as good as a stop watch. So if boats 3, 7 and 9 cross the line at almost the same time, thats gunna be a bit&% to hit all the right keys. Its a cool little program, but I dont feel its worth $25. of the clubs finances. JMO, but what do I know.Comment
