As for the Genny, well... the impact nearly pulled the rudder bracket bolts completely through the transom. It also distorted one of my LiPos so badly I had to sh!t-can it.

At Moon lake you have to park and carry your boats a looong distance to the water. Also, there is no good way to run an established course left to right. Most of the guys that used to run nitros and gas there have stopped using it.

We have tried repeatedly to find a place to run near Land O Lakes. Even had a feature article in the local newspaper. No go! The lakes are all private and have no immediate access to the lake front. The only county owned lake is overgrown and there isn't good access to it. Another lake that is corporate owned received their blessing but they deferred to the nearby homeowners association which nixxed it! Frustrating to be sure.

Most of our members are now closer to Sarasota than Tampa/Land O Lakes so those of us up here have to drive to Akerman.

If you can find us an acceptable place to run in Land O Lakes that meets all the following criteria, let me know"

NO full size boat traffic (Namba rule)
NO swimmers (Namba rule)
Must be free of weeds and overgrowth
Must be able to park at the lakeside
Must be at LEAST 800' long left to right
Must be at LEAST 400' wide
Must be able to get permission to use.
Must not include nitro or gas because the noise would get us run off for sure!
Must be able to use a retrieve boat on the lake.

I'm sure there's some others but that's a start! I'm all ears!!

it is not far to the water and i run my eletric boats there i just move to weeki wachee area from fort meyers if someone wants to run at moon lake with me let me know i will meet you there and please let me know when you run the boats at saratoa

What have they changed at Moon Lake? The Parking lot to the water used to be a few hundred feet! Us old guys can't tote all our stuff that far. I used to be the Parks and Recreation Director for Pasco County. Moon Lake was one of my parks. I'm very familiar with it.

We run at Akerman on the 2nd and 4th Sunday each month. Start about 9 a.m. and done around 1 or 2 p.m. We would be happy to have you!

Maybe we could run at WeekiWachee and terrorize the mermaids!
