          Monthly Meetings

Hello to you Central Florida guys, my name is Brian Giardelli and I met some of your club members this past January. I live at the ENCORE RV RESORT in Bradenton during the winter months. In fact, I did bring some of our boat club members to Akerman to watch you in Feb. Unfortunately, these members decided against joining your club. Since that time, I have been following your trials in looking for a better set up for monthly meets. I would like present another option for your membership to consider. My reasons are selfish as our boat club membership is declining. I believe more interest would follow if we could arrainge to have your club use our lake at Encore RV Resort as your home park. The benefits to you would be substantial.
Your retrieval boat could remain at the park chained to the storage compound fence,
          There are washrooms close by.
There is a pool and BBQUE to use and your families could come in the summer as there are only 30 residents all summer long.
          There are A/C outlets.
          There is a launch dock.
          There is a drivers dock.
          Many more benefits for sure

There would be a cost to worked out with the park manager but I am an excellent negotiator. a GOOD USE FOR YOUR DUES.
If you are interested, check out the club house pool area.
EXIT 220,NORTH PAST WALMART, RT ON CYPRESS CREEK, OVER 75, LEFT IN ENCORE DRIVEWAY

I WILL BE AWAY TILL MID AUG. Talk about this and let me know later.

PS- I haven't flown this by the park manager until I know your interested so don't bring this up when checking out the facillities, tell her you are looking at trailer sites. The manager was vey much in favour of having your club run last spring before the fish episode ruined it. I return to Florida in late Oct. and could approach the manager at that time.

            Brian,

Welcome to our club site. This sounds like a great idea. I checked out Encore last month when we couldn't run at Ackerman, darn Saturday Kayak classes. Be great if you could work something out.

That's a nice pond you have there - and it's easy to get to.

Looks great Brian. I know we were all disappointed with the fish kill! Where do you park your cars when you run? It looks like there are homes all around. Is there an open spot to stand and drive the boats? Just curious.

We now have a new retrieve boat thanks to RCHippie who jumped through hoops today to help out. He called ASAP when the ad on Craigs list appeared and immediately went to look at the boat. He bought it for us. I went over to pick it up from him this afternoon. It is ideal! It is an 11.5' long jon boat and super lightweight. It's in great shape but needs a piece of wood replaced in the transom (just the motor mount, not structural). We squeezed the boat into my van for the trip home. Got home and couldn't round up any help so tugged it inside my warehouse. I'm nursing my sore back tonight! haha.

                  Hippie Hippie Hooray!

The next step is to sell out tippy canoe! It needs some minor repairs. I'll take care of that and get it advertised. I also need to make a top rack for the jon boat to go on top of my van.

I was glad to help Jim. You said you went to Archies lake todqay . Tell everyone your opinion.

That's good news on the retrieve boat, thank you rchippie and sailr. I already posted my thoughts on Encore, would be a very good venue for our club.

Not sure how much we could afford to pay Encore though. So far Hugh is the only one to pay up his dues renewal!

I looked at RCHippie's St. Pete lake today! It'll work great if not a little short for P-mono and Q offshore but I swear it's big enough to have some fun.

Gonna go run there on July 10th!

Jim, there is parking in front of and beside the clubhouse for a dozen cars and another lot 300 feet away for another dozen cars. The clubhose is the large roof in the north end of the picture. The lake is 18 acres and 1 mile in circumference. There is a launch dock and a drivers dock directly south of the clubhouse and about 40 feet from the pool. I will attempt to insert some pictures from one of our Regattas TTYL BG

Must have been a nice cool(er) autumn or spring day in those photos. I can't believe anyone would sit in the sun for long on a day like we had Sunday.
It is a nice looking lake for sure though.
