This I think deserved its own thread. Backstory: I've been building cats for a little while and I decided I wanted a boat that could be run in water that's not glass smooth. I decided to build a mono. I figured 32-34" would be good enough for what I run in. I had initially thought I'd build a 70mph saw mono and then back it down to 50ish for running on the river and when we go to Panama City for vacation....we always take a pontoon boat out in the bay. Thought that might be fun. Well.....I always get carried away with things and decided to see just how fast I could make a mono go. Reliably. Well here's where I'm at so far....
34" mono single motor 90.4mph!

Thanks guys. Honestly I think I'm about done. I don't want to push my luck. I am getting Dasboata to do me up a prop and maybe I'll get 93 or so but that's about all I think I'm gonna push it. I'd like to hit 100 but that extra 10mph ain't gonna be easy. I did this today in windy conditions but oddly the water was quite tame. In a little chop it goes faster. I like the fact that I don't have to pay much attention to water and wind conditions to go fast with this boat. My cats, if it's a little windy...forget it. Good stuff! I'm starting to like monos!32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

I'm a little bummed. Here I am, working hard to get this thing to go as fast as I can and two people give me a thumbs down on my YouTube video of the 90mph pass. Why? I don't get it, maybe it's jealousy? Hating? I dunno. Some people are just no good I guess.32" carbon rivercat single 4s 102mph, 27” mini Rivercat 92mph, kbb34 91mph, jessej micro cat(too fast) wasComment

Do you think its easier to make a Daytona hull go 100mph with a single drive or Twin? I'm thinking to maybe pick up a smaller sized daytona like your 32" rivercat. I guess only issue is there isn't gonna be much room in there for battery and hardware for running Twins right?Comment
