I've got Swordy 200's in mine so I am stuck with 6s for now.I think I am close with the airing out balance thing(if not there).I built mine a little heavy so I am not too concerned with a blowover or,ummm,6 or 7.I don't remember how many it has been.Roll overs have been the big PITA.I fixed that though.
    How does yours handle?

i do like them..the performance is good for the price and they come back as solid as a brick after my runs..i have not pushed them hard yet but i have a couple boats almost done to put some juice through my esc's to give them a little more of a challenge..haha...plus mark is good to deal with with is a major plus in my book

Hey, I started thinking it wasn't cool to jump in on the Shocker thread, hijack-wise. Hope no one minded. Thought Mark's boat would provide some entertaining hi-jinks (hi-jumps?)

It does take a warped perspective/mind to compete in the straightline time trials. Big budgets and lots of carnage. You'll see the cool vids, but not the wreckage, shredded drivelines or smell the stinky speedies in the pits. Grief counseling is a necessary component. Record-worthy SAW boats are basically useless for anything else. Two or three passes & bring it in - watercooling isn't a viable option - Mark's record run took 2.205 seconds through the lights. Turn fins are removed, rudders shortened to a bare minimum to hold a straight course ; the u-turn for a backup pass uses up most of the lake. It does get in your blood, though. I left a 71 mph pass, un backed-up on the table, on the way to my 67.771 mph LSO record and it sticks in the forefront of my mind and will until next October's straightlines.
The camaraderie in the pits is the best part. It's almost as if all the racers are part of a single team with the group goal of everyone getting a record in their respective class(es). OK I've rambled enough, BUT my little Drifter S still sits on the shelf waiting for October. I swear it's winking at me !

It is an addiction. Not the records themselves, just the men and their machines.

                          Looking good Mr. Fence
