    Correct
Oval Electric Rig-racing in Italy is on a 5 min heat race, the more laps you go the better, at the end of the 5 minutes the more laps win.
Speed and run time are crucial. I understand it may be a silly question but how is oval rig-racing in the US ??

Oval racing in the USA it's only maybe a 2 1/2 run that's way setups here are different and lot of "racers" can't think out side the box and been trying to proof that but like Steve said "the cat can get skined in different ways"

        I see...

Yup... you guys have different needs. There is still something to be said, however, about prop efficiency. Turning a larger prop with a lower KV motor can be more efficient. Obviously, there is a threshold there where it's counter-productive.

I think it depends on what risks someone is prepared to take to increase speed re kv & prop sizes. I think you need to see this boat run on flat water where you should see mid 70+ mph. I know a few have run Leopard 3674 - 2200kv on ABC H7 & got around 60mph.

Ok this goes to all of you following this threat , I did some testing ony rigger with a similar setup here we go:

            Cc 240amp temp - 90deg
            Timing normal 10deg
            Leo 3674 3270kv temp - 111deg
Prop - m440 will try x442 next time
            Amps max -146.7
Amps thru out all run between 100 and 140

More testing will follow with gps reading as well but by the way this first run looks it was breaking 70+

The Leopard 3674 - 3270kv is a d wind motor & would be better set at 3 degrees, was the water flat during testing. Good luck with further tests.

Yes water was close to flat calm , I did lower the timing to 5deg which is the lowest to no timing unless there is custome setting for timing I'll check that...

How long did you run for to get the temps.

Approx. 2 - 2 1/2 min just cause I know my batts havent been holding up so I didn't want to go much longer but it was full tilt no lift at all in fact it turned so hard that the sponson on turnfin side came off the brass insert on the boom

Yes when you push the speeds ecsecially in turns on JAE i always mod the sponsons during build so their is hard wood dowls inside the sponson where the brass tubes go through the sponson. I also bolt the turnfin right through the sponson dowls & have an aluminium doubler plate going down to just above water running level on the fin, other wise you can bend the fin with the higher loads in turns.

This is the video , it really doesn't do much justice but it is ballistic fast

This is the whole video of my JAE on almost calm water, speed is 115 kms/h 72mph measured with radargun. Running time 5 minutes, I didn't measure temp with a meter but both the motor and esc were warm to the touch, not hot so I'm not very worried about temp.
Will change strut ang. to 0° and see how it runs.
