The bigger the prop the less rpm. If you want to go fast you need rpm.

Yeah, and the bigger the prop the bigger the amp draw. Fast can be done with more than just high rpm.

I'm new at rc boats and don't know much about this hobby. I have about 25 runs on this motor with this setup and no problem yet. I guess i got lucky to get this boat to run in the 80mph range. I see a lot of people like to run low rpm and that works for them but it didnt work for me. I run this boat on 4s 6s 8s 9s and i would only set this up for 8s or 9s.

I did the same thing when I fist started RC boating. Onen of my first setups was a Neu 1515-1Y (2200kv) on 6s. Crazy rpm is fun, but eventually I wanted more dependable setups.
Im surprised youve been able to run 80mph back and forth for 25 cycles without blowing over. Thats pretty good luck! My first boats were beaten badly and showed it from high speed crashes.

I have what I think are some good ideas about setting up this boats. I built a tool that helps me balance the boat and a wing that installs very easy to the front of a cat. I'm waiting for a part and then i will try for a faster top speed.
