I ran a x457 and s240 on my 40" mono and the roost was quite long as well.
I like the stainless props, they take a little longer to work but in the end they function well. IMO they can be made thinner than the BC props as they are harder so the weight is really not much of an issue. A s230 would be a pretty big step up (load wise) from a x447, so watch your temps. I ran 9s in my boat so the larger prop was not as much concern.

Thanks Keith, is the 48.3mm s230 more pitch than an x447, thus creating a higher load???

Yes, the 230 is like a 648 loadwise.

I like Prather propellers, all have a pitch of about 1.5, higher than the octura x4 series with 1.4. so the 230 has 48.3mm diameter or 1.9" and pitch 3.0" which gives 3/1.9 = 1.57 almost like x6 series.
the total pitch of the 447 is 1.4x47 = 65.8mm and the total pitch of the 230 is 3"= 76.2mm so the 230 will give higher load and better speed. in addition, it is said that prather props have a lower lift than the octura. i use prather props in my 35" mono and runs nice.
the 450 has a total pitch of 1.4x50= 75 mm slightly lower that the 230, and the 225 has pitch 2.8"= 71mm, so I guess these are your options 448,225,450,230

very nice boat and really like the setup, well done!

Thanks Disar! I'm kinda proud of this one as i took some time planning it all out. The hull is from ebay and was quite affordable. BTW, there is a huge difference in 1p and 2p as i have experienced.

Wonder what the gps will show today with the 447.............50..........?

It runs very well. The good thing is that big hulls are now affordable. 1-2 years ago you would need 800$ for motor and esc but now things changed,.....

wow, looks like a 230 or even a 235 should work great

Hey guys, thanks for the replies.

Garmin etrex is the GPS, small and light.

Yes, motor 77*f.........ambient air temp today was 48* and water surface 47*.

It goes for about 3 min all out then takes about 2500 into each 5000 pack, (running four packs.)

New Vid.............quite pleased am I.........53.5 mph!! Guess im gonna prop up again with the temps being stupid low again. This run is with an x447, the previous vid was an x445

Just keep an eye on the esc temps. Check your esc to motor wires for heat next time too. My wires were coming in at about 145 degrees. Esc and motor were barely warm but the wires were hot. Changed from 6mm to 8mm bullets but still gets pretty hot. I'm curious to see if yours does the same.

Actually the wires and connectors are just mildy warm................didnt temp 'em but im a pretty good judge of just "feeling" temps and they are probably about 110 or so. ESC is barely warm too.

                        What motor/setup/esc are you speaking of.............a 5692?

Thinking of stepping up to the x645.......worried a bit about the T180. I can set the timing to zero to take a bit off of it...........can it handle it?

                            any thoughts.

I've always had better luck with X series props on monos than 6 series or prathers. Monos like more diameter than pitch. You should be able to swing an X455 prop with that motor. I don't know about your T180 though.

Amps will not be the issue. Running at max voltage may. The 645 is nothing for that motor.
