My HPR06 Repsol (when not driving on snow)

    Hello Guys,

today I want to present you my HPR06 Repsol. Its the boat that I drove on snow yesterday, but normally its intended to run on a flat lake (without snow and ice).

    Here my Setup:
    hull: HPR06, Carbon/Cevlar - Year 2008
    design: Repsol
engines: 2x LMT 1940/7 with WK and Air-Cooling
    ESC's: 2x Modellbauregler AS 26.150BL
    Lipos: 2x 5s Kokam 5000 30C (3 years old)
Props: pair of Octura X447, cut down/cupped to 42mm
    TopSpeeds:
    -147km/h with 2x 5S Kokam 5000 (measured with GPS)
    -156km/h with 1x 6S Turnigy 5000 40C (measured on GermanSAW 2010)

And here some links to videos of the boat.
    Repsol at 147km/h in Ertingen 2010 (92mph)
Repsol at 129km/h with serious rough water on the lake (80mph)

For me the HPR06 is one of my "All-Time-Favourites". It looks great and the performance as well as the quality of the hull is still amazing.

    Best regards,
    Manuel

Awesome boat. How would a castle 1717 compare to a lehner 1940 7?I ask because im wondering if they are enough power to push a 59 inch cat? Oh I almost forgot to tell you "killer paint"

I wondered the same thing..With an HPR115 that I am ordering, all of our friends to the east use Lenher, Shultze combos.....but here in the states, it's more like the Nue/Castle or Leopard/? combos.............

                          Hello Guys,

                          thanks for the replies.

The last action shots were taken at the powerboot meeting in Ebensee (Austria) last year - the water there was really rough. You can also see more pictures of the boat on Hanspeters Homepage in the gallery.

Concerning the "killer paint": The hull is still unpainted with white GelCoat, what you see are just stickers.

The HPR06 is about 45" long and available on Haempus Homepage: http://www.hpr-powerboats.ch/. At the moment I'm building another one for a friend of mine. Here is the link to my building review: http://www.rc-powerboat-forum.de/ind...d=49&tid=10763 If you like, I can also start a building review here in this forum.

For the Castle 1717, as I don't know the motor I looked it up at their homepage: Well its surprisingly big for its price. Way bigger than the LMT 1940/7 that I use in my HPR. It has nearly double the weight of my motors beside having quite less kv. So if I had to use one I'd try to use them with 7S Lipo to get the right rpm (. The thing is, on the castle homepage it says max 25V (equals 6S Lipo) but 7S under load should have an approx. Voltage of 25V. So beside the RPM, the Castle 1717 should definitly have a higher possible power output than my Lehner 1940. I'm nore sure wether they are enough to power a 59" cat, for a HPR06 or even a HPR 135 they should take it for "normal" speeds. The only question is, how to water-cool them with these fins?

The NEU/Castle 1518 1Y 1800kv should normally be a nice motor as well for the HPR06. It has enough weight as well as the right size. I don't know how big the difference in kv between loaded/unloaded is, but 5S should be enough for normal use, 6S when you want to go a bit faster.

                          Best regards,
                          Manuel
