I saw this hull on the OSE site last year and asked for it for Christmas. Had I known it would be like cramming 10 pounds of sh!t in a 2 pound hull, I would've asked for the 34!! But I think it came together really well and these hulls are pretty nice. I'm supper stoked to have gotten all the electronics packaged with a good CG.
This is my first Hydro and it has not been maidened yet but will be soon pending weather. I don't think I will "jazz" this one up as it looks pretty slick as it is now. It might get paint or a livery after the maiden. There's not a whole lot on this hull in the forums so I thought I'd post in case some of the ideas I had worked for others. Shouts out to Big B from Ironclad RC for his great Youtube videos on how to build one of these hulls. Check him out if you are unaware, he's built a 24 with twins! Very awesome dude with a very awesome channel.
I built this with the intent of it being a basher / speed freak at the sand bar, not for ovals. I opted to keep the rudder on the right because that's how its made to run out of the package and I did not feel like modifying the bracket and rudder to be on the left. This will be fine for my intents and purposes. Die-hard oval racers will say put the rudder on the left, I just wanted to explain why mine is not for those looking to build a racer using this rudder it will need to be modified to run on the left.
Thanks for checking out my Hydro 24:
- SSS V2 3660 - 2070Kv 2.5Y
- Seaking 120
- Power HD 25Kg (20Kg was insufficient)
- (2) 6500 2S SMC
- Home made turn fin
- Speedmaster Mini Rudder with Hydro offset
- Speedmaster 21 Strut for 0.187
- Test prop is a 4516
