Ok, you know EXACTLY what you're talking about. I've passed on a few Texas Tunnels for fear of switching ends upon landing. They're too short but look COOL.
Daytonas look better though and way more stable..

      Under 9k is wishful thinking : )

[QUOTE=ron1950;540754]bill look great...nothing better then raw horsepower in a jet...my last boat was a picklefork Daytona dragster with a little less horsepower and it did 104 in the quarter......good luck with it..oh ya reinforce the backs of the seats...they really pull hard off the line with that many horses....[/QUOT

Great Goin' Ron. Now, you've got me looking into fiberglass buckets up front and removing the rear seats : )
With my 468 it was already stressing the wooden seating arrangement out..

I appreciate all the advice i can get. I've never even ridden in anything with that much power and I'm being told I'm in for a surprize.
We're looking to spin the jet up to 6500rpm. My 468 got maybe 52-5300 on an A/B impeller.

The new pump features a custom ground impeller to match our dyno numbers.

Ok, enough of the frills, shiny parts, and bikinis. Wanna see a coupla' things that make this build special?

A lot of it is all in my head(s)

As you notice, we're running AFR CNC aluminum heads. They have been hard anodized black inside the water jackets, and exhaust ports. We did this because typically boats do not run antifreeze. Fresh water can be corrosive on aluminum, and the water jackets will corrode away otherwise. I wanted the "silver" shiny look of aluminum heads, but as on my RC boats I'm going Performance First. They feature Inconnel exhaust valves. Inconel valves are a must on a high performance boat motor due to the drastic changes in exhaust temp, pre-stress relieved springs that lose no more than 2pct over their atricion rate. We installed Jessel shaft mounted roller rockers so when its time to rock and roll, we're ready to rock! Shaft mounted rockers eliminate the need for girdles. My block is so stout, it needs no girdles either. I believe this block is good up to 3,000+HP, so I think we're good : )

Take a look at the 4-bolt main caps. BEEFY.

Our goal with this motor is torque. We're sacraficing a few RPM for massive torque, about 750 foot lbs.
My mechanics are concerned that with my style of driving, I hold WOT for long periods and generally stay in the upper RPM range. They realize I'm an rc boat SAW racer, and I expect this thing to perform as such lol!
I love to stand in the throttle, lean down, and open her up. I race anything that pulls up on me from jet-skis to bass fishing boats. I REALLY love to blast off on V-drives that claim jets suck

So far i haven't been beat even at the cost of a few motors lol! I can't lie though. The only boat that made me back off believe it or not was this "Nitro" bass fishing boat.
He was pulling up on the side of me and was already pegged. I stomped on it (with a girl on board), and he continued pulling me, so i backed off and told the girl, I was just being careful with precious cargo lol!

do NOT under estimate tournament bass fishing boats, they HAUL BUTT outboard monos..
Me 540 will put any bass fishin boat to shame now though : )

Oh Ron we ran the "purple" stuff for half a season in my 468 and I believe it was like 8-12bux a gallon lol!
We're lookin to run 91. My pro-form carb didn't like race fuel. The excellerator pump would stick. I think its because I would store the boat with a carb foll of race fuel.
I may need to re-hose my fuel system to run the super good stuff. I'm sure this dominator 1050 will feel at home running it : )
