Whoa.. that's a big boat. Or did you mean to say 49"? Either way it's a BIG boat!

I might have to make a trip back home to CO to run with you and the gas dudes a time or two.

What about making it removable/replaceable? That would serve double-duty as a break-away. Embed some tubes in the aft cowl and deck, then embed some protruding music wire/CF rods in the fin........

Good suggestion, I’ll play with that. Thanks!

What type of paint did you use?

Duplicolor automotive rattle can paints are amazing!
The white is a pearly matte, and then nice racing red. Then I did a metal flake topped by clear coat.
The green is krylon. Just be sure to scuff every square millimeter! Because when you remove the masking tape, you’ll find where you missed!

                    Definitely avoid rustoleum!

Great work, jesse! That checkered/striped pattern came out fantastic! I'll grab duplicolor rattle cans.

Will you clear it with 2k or something similar?

Any ideas on materials for the fin? Foam board or other light weight strong board material that floats?

What if you used some type of foam board then cover it either wood or FG?

You have a foam board link to go with your tboat owner recommendation?

You can order foam board on amazon.
Something that came to mind, call Steve at rc boat company, maybe he will willing to make you fin?

Plywood over a built-up balsa core. You can easily add internal tubes for attachment rods. "Glass the whole thing when done. Light and strong.
