I hear ya! The available prop issue is a major drawback. That is the main reason that I am considering the Neu 1115/2D (2600). Hopefully those will be able to turn the x442 (closest size I can find in metal) at a decent rpm...but still looking.

You may want to consider (which you most likely already have) the H&M Maritmo Hull. It's 2" longer/1+" wider and set up for a single motor. The EKOS might take a lot of work to go single motor.

If you can wait, let's see what NitroVal does with his dual Neu 1515's. I have to believe that it will take a can opener to get those in the sponsons, but I sure would like to see it run.

I like the Maritmo, have thought about it some time ago and decided not to get one.
Why would it take a lot of work to have a single motor? I am planing on a "hull only" kinda thing...
it should work fine... wow, dual 1515's... that think will be fast.

I think the problem you will run into with a single motor is mounting space. That tunnel is pretty tall and/or the deck is pretty low. You would almost have to mount the motor completely horizontal for it to fit under the hatch

        Now with 540s- 62mph
New setup- Etti 150A's, Turnigy 2600s, 5S, X442s and a whole lot of cooling hoses

          that could be a problem...

40mm is the mean measurement. Your also inside the cockpit in this area which is much taller, add 30mm.

Yea, I take back my first statement. If you mount the motor dead center in the cockpit area, you have about 3" of head space, so you should be fine with careful planning

with that kinda space one could fit a 1521 in there at a decent angle...
                  I'm covered,

I just scored a new KOS off of Tower and would like to replace the stock motors with some thing different..
are the stock motors considered 380S or are they 380L motors?
                    maybe some Feigao 380 10L motors ?
                    or possibly a pair of 540 9L on 3s

Whats the point? Your boat wont do over 40mph anyways...

you don't think it will hit 40+ with bigger motors?
                        I'm looking for 50+

It's a 380 motor. The stock venom motor is approx 53mm long. It is hard to tell with the way the water jacket extends beyond the back end of the motor. It's almost 61mm including the water jacket but there is nothing back there except the water intake. Take a look at my pic on post #221 and you will get an idea.

With anything larger in diameter than a 380, I hope you have very small hands to get into that space...

Now why would you say that? You (NitroVal) hit 46.9mph with just a prop change on 3s...

I do not know if a 380L 10L would be a great improvement. I think that you will need a lot more torque because of the prop availability, but I could be wrong.

                            Lets here from some others...

BTW, why is Jeff Wohlt being so silent? He had two of these boats...

                              Awesome, thanks for the info..
The 380L motors are a little longer at 58mm, I take it they would fit fine..
I wonder how much more power they would have?
maybe a 9L on 3s could be a big improvement

No I didnt. I wasted everyone's time by posting a picture of my GPS showing it, along with a video of the run, but since the video didnt show the GPS, Im full of *!***!***!***!** and my boat, nor will any EKOS do 40mph... According to the critics...
