I'd get two 3s of the same brand and "c" rating, then you will have two sets of batts to run 5s................which is best for that 1800kv motor..................6s is too hot a setup for that boat in my opinion.
NEED PARALLEL CONNECTORS?? QUALITY 5.5MM, 8MM, 8 AND 10 AWG, GET THEM HERE: http://forums.offshoreelectrics.com/...est!&highlight=

I took your advice on batteries and got 46.4mph on 5s yesterday. Needless to say, that's moving pretty good.

That'll be in the 20,000 rpm range.............not real fun, you'll want more speed when you see it run.

Ha...yeah I ran 4s and that's about as slow as I ever want to go again. It's enough to do some cool turn and get on plane. I couldn't go back NiMH again.

                  What to expect from 5s

Here is my GPS from Tuesday's 5s run on a basically stock Spartan with Octura X442 balanced/sharpened prop. Still can tune the hull a little more and squeek out a little more. It's fun and will definitely get peoples attention without getting out of control. There's something to be said about the peace of mind and not pushing the limits too.

Here is mine on 6s, its all I run. Traxxas 5000. mah and Traxxas 8.400 mah. I am bone stock other wise, no trim adjustments, no special water cooling, just stock Spartan everything. I never have the problems some are claiming and would not consider anything less. No heat problems that I keep hearing about, the lipos just get warm not melting down like the stock nimh's do. A just warm motor and warm esc at best after a hard run.

You tell me if this Spartan is running right, I have not raced one yet but have put away many a nitro boat on our lake. But the fact is I just have no other Spartan to compare it to. But you'll notice no fires took place after a long run. Thr 5000 mahs are lighter and will run a bit faster.

Now you saw 6s, but since you're probably not racing, why not have the reliability of 5s that your wanting, no use maxxing everything out for 5mph more...........
