Any bigger and the esc goes poof and the motor overheats.
Yeh traxxas wants it to last and the 42mm makes it fool proof.... You could probably go slightly larger and octura of course but I'm sure traxxas wanted something to work with all batteries... From 7 cell nimh packs along with 6s setups.... The mamba monster in my erevo has been overgeared and beat to death!!!! Comes back kickin.... Shows castle knows how to make some things for sure.... Does anyone k ow the amp rating of the esc in this boat yet?

Does anyone know if this boat is 36" from nose to transom, or from nose to tip of prop nut? I know some manufacturers like to inflate the size of their boats by including the drive hardware in the length.

        Forescott:

According to their site it is 36.5 inches long for the hull and 40.8 inches overall.

I think I would be inclined to run this boat on 4 or 5s. Then dial in the drive settings and prop size. I bet you could still get close to 50 without 6s.

Not me! 6s for sure! Just stick with the small props! Any yes, I've had a couple Neu/Castle motors waaay over geared and volted and they take the abuse. They aren't actually made by Castle either...

No crap. Wonder why it's such a nicer esc than the hydras. They're both rated at 120 amps and 6s. The MMM controller will co it all day long. The hydra...... not so much. That fan keeps things nice and cool too. Wonder why Traxxas didn't hook up with Castle for the boat goodies too?

I wish their were more specs on the motor such as amp pull and wattage range. A 540xl size motor properly priced could be a nice alternative. Not as cheap as a feigao and not as expensive as a neu or cc motors. Could be a real game changer.

its a beautiful boat,no doubt its going to be a winner.but i have a question.how can a composite prop handle a 6s lipo? i would of thought it would come equipped with a metal prop to handle all the torque.
