      Make sure you change all of them. When it comes to the power side of the esc make 1 female and 1 male. When you go to power the boat take batt 1 red wire connect + to esc connect batt 2 black wire to - of esc after that take batt 1 black wire and plug it directly into batt 2 red wire. You just created a series circuit and you don't need any jumpers or lame deans. Hopefully that makes sense.

              Yup it's the same easiest way to do it. To insure I do not short the battery I hook the esc connections first and leave the battery 2 battery connection last.
