Also... if it were solely up to me, the steering rod would be MUCH more rigid, and it would "pull" the rudder into right hand turns rather than "push" it... Kind of like on the Mystic! I've argued for 2-years that those tiny little steering rods are too "flexy", and that the little plastic ball-joint ends not substantial enough.

This does have on this boat, however, a downfall, because it puts the servo arm out into the battery tray area, but I don't think we'd ever need to put our batteries back that far anyhow, so it shouldn't be an issue.

It's a RTR... Otherwise known as a decent design with "Production compromises"... :D

i guess i lost the point of this thread....i have used both the kentec and the octura standoff's whichever u use u will have to make a few small adjustments....instead of washers i cut a notch out of the steering arm to clear the rudder post....either way check your strut and make use its perfectly stright with the bottom of the boat.....done......

Well i tried it with the horn reversed, like you guys said. Definetely not how its suppose to be. Ive come to the conclusion that the difference is in the offset brakets. Why would kintec make a braket where youd have to modify the horn to get it to work with his own modification? Anyway its pretty much fine now, not perfect. Ill first post the pics of the reversed horn, then regular (for me).

And heres how it is now, almost perfect. Darin could you possibly post a few pics of your setup? If youve got the octura offsets then dont bother posting, thanks

I don't have the Kintec bracket... I just fabbed up some standoffs. My steering horn is the same as you now have yours, except that my steering rod comes in underneath it. Shouldn't make a difference either way.

I still don't understand WHY you would need or want that much steering throw. I'm almost always dialing mine DOWN, even for fairly tight turning, but either way, it looks like you should have PLENTY of throw in both directions....

Remember, you will NOT need as much throw to the right... the boat will naturally turn easier that way due to prop rotation, so you shouldn't need as much travel in that direction.

Please note also... these were some initial pics... I've since moved my prop back from the strut about 1/4" or so, so that the thrust code passes by the rudder, instead of spraying right onto the side of it.

Ummmm... I'm not going to say! Not because I'm a jerk, but because that prop was only being put on there to see about really pushing the limits, and I don't want people out there burning up ESCs because of a prop they saw me run on mine once. Besides, it's very cut-up from where it originally was, and it would be tough for the average to duplicate and have work...

I will say this... the boat, with the stock power-train, did an honest 47mph with it! Pulls nearly 100 Amps though.

Darin the way my throw is now, is way better than when i started this thread. The way it is now is fine, look at the very first post compared to post #19, completely different.

Hehe, I just like the look of the 3 blade props. I got 3 different 2 blades to test out so I´m not going to buy props for å while :)

Mine can turn in a 2 foot radius or less. I'm usually dialling out the epa as well as turning down the dual rate. My stand off only kicks over 1 inch instead of 2 though. Catches some of the thrust cone on left corners. It's clear of the prop wash in a straight line though. Works for me and cost 2 bucks or so for the spaces and screws. A pic later if u guys want one.
