No clearcoat on any surface as it is difficult to repair and just a note 61 years old and the UL-1 was done in Green Bay colours. How old are you???

Your commenents are childish and I suggest you go back to a place of higher learning, as you have no future in the present economic stature.

Lacquers and enamels don't need to be cleared (but can be) as they will give you a gloss finish. The uros do need to be cleared as they are part of a BC/CC system. The base coats will not give you a gloss finish and are not meant to that is what the catalyzed clears are for. Alsa, House of kolors, and others have come out with spray can versions of their paint but it is not the same as the tins you get from a jobber.IMPBA 20481S D-12Comment

Nice looking boats, Douggie.
As we used to say way back when we first started seeing clear coating...clear is for queers. That was only because our spray guys felt they could do a better job without covering up the scars from sanding with clear. Emron, etc never used clear. Paint it and buff it out and it looked a mile deep.
I use clear but an't no queer...but I am willing to learn :)Comment
