Dx3r?

I have run several Spektrum transmitters in my boats without problem. The key is (as it was with 75MHz) to make sure you had a good antenna placement. The SR3000 is a little hard to do this with due to the entire active antenna being right down to the case and the short length, so I recommend using the SR3100 instead because it has a longer antenna (so you can locate it better) and only the last inch or so needs to be out where it can see the transmitter. With any 2.4G system you need to keep the antenna away from metals as best you can.
There is another thread here where I posted pix of both the SR3000 and SR3100 in my rigger. What you can't see is that the antenna tube is about 6" long. In the SR3000 picture the rx is right against the transom where the strut bracket is bolted on. I had no problems with that install, but I was only running the boat about 500' away max due to where I was standing at the lakeside. With the SR3100 I was over 700' away and, aside from barely seeing my boat, had no trouble with operation.
There's also this posting: http://spektrumrc.com/Articles/Artic...ArticleID=1888
One of my buddies here is using the same SR3100 setup in his Blackjack 26 w/o problems.

The ul-1 system is functionally sound, but the setup features and model memory are great with the Dx3s. If price isnt a problem I think the Dx3s is the ticket. If funds are tight the Ul-1 for a single boat is great.Steven Vaccaro

Yes Steven, the UL sys has the essentials only as far as features goes,
but remember, if one is paying little money
for it, he/she better be well aware that it either
comes with limited features or does not work well...
the UL-1 sys works well, if you want to spend some more money,
then you can expect all the bells and whistles...:::::::::::::::. It's NEVER fast enough! .:::::::::::::::Comment
