i am just fresh back from the pond all though a 1/3 had a thin covering of ice which i found out when it was to late so on went the waders lol

but after trimming out from my install of a spare 2.4ghz RX things went not to bad but iam still in need of some adjustments managed a rather dissapointing 35.1 mph

the boat seemed to run alittle wet so i raised the strut but looking at it its at to much of an angle so i think it could be a weight issue here but all i have forward of the motor is my ESC batts are right back servo and RX remain in the stock position batt trays and servo box have been removed

can some one just run by what effect tilting the strut has ?

Did you recalibrate your ESC? Does the Etti have a calibration routine?
Any pictures of the inside of the boat?

yep esc was programmed after some teething trouble but the only fault i seem to have on that front is iam not getting a smooth throtle it only seems to kick in when opened to 1/2 on my futaba 6x 2.4ghz will need to look into that

will take photos now and post in 10 mins

Not sure, it could be angle of the photo but check your motor to driveline angles for binding. In the second picture it looks out of alignment.

Can you lower the strut so you have more of a straight line then angle the prop itself up?

It seems to be sitting very high and that might cause binding on the cable too.

I am no expert... maybe others have more info?

Also check all your settings for the esc. Could still be a setting or issue with the esc?

I would try lowering 2-3 mm but still keep a slight up angle on the prop.

Did you check the motor connection angle?

Good luck on the water! Looks better to me, but as you said, trial and error.

I am heading out myself tomorrow to beat on my new Hydra 120!

Let us know how the adjustments go.

You need some space between the drive dog and strut for sure. Minimum of about 1/8" and maybe a tad more. A cable shortens as it winds up and thrust is put on it.

Also, you have a bend going up to the strut...from the pics I see...adjust your stuffing tube so it is straight and inline with the strut nose...you are putting stress on the cable like that.

Lookslike you have a bunch of postive trim to the strut. Put it on a flat surface and then bring oyur strut up a couple mm but maintain flat.

                              thanks for the info

have increased the gap between the drive dog and strut i to noticed that,
the stuffing tube where it leaves the hull is now been adjusted and is looking as flat as, but last time i had it set like this it ran wet hense the angle i had on the strut
i also gave everything a good check and i had previously installed a small peice of tubing over the stuffing tube where it joins the motor coupler to prevent water seeping in but have now removed this the drive shaft has been lubed and is free to spin no noises or binding
now only testing will tell i will report back tomorrow if the pond is not frozen lol

                              thanks all
