    Ryan,
I am thinking that may be what I am missing. Question is which props to try next?
BTW... no problem with that gauge, you are welcome. I wish I could have gotten it more precise, but as I said, I don't have a cnc mill. Have to measure each cut manually.

My experience with this boat is limited to 2000kV motors, so I have no idea. You might need to contact a prop pro for advice or start a new thread asking that question, as it might get a little more exposure than it would in this thread.

thumbnail_IMG_2173[1].jpgHey all. been building Gassers for a few months but dusting off the Zelos. Has anyone changed out drives? I tried everything and can not hit 70's without flipping. Running stock with jeffs wire drives, tried ose flex shafts, chris's x447s I pulled the drives today and when adjusted down or up they are different.

so I'm thinking of changing the drives.....I can hit the speed, but cant keep it down any help please.

I've yet to see a Zelos with aftermarket struts installed. I was only able to just crack 70 with my 447's. When I put on ABC 1814's and moved all 4 batteries forward, the boat was as stable as it had ever been and ran mid 70's consistently with safe temps all around (115*F motor, 120* ESC). The ABC's drive the rear of the boat down more than the Octuras and required less positive trim. REDLINE has similar results to mine, and Madrcer better than both of us, all with similar hardware. I don't think your struts are the issue, rather a little center of gravity adjustment and possibly a new set of props to get the speed you want.

I'm seeing a lot better stability since blue printing the sponsons. Was having the same problem with the 447's after the work it was glued to the water. I was running all 4 batteries up front and still couldn't keep the front end down. Now I'm back to the batteries inline. Only problem is it was running more wet and my speed dropped. Yesterday Ryan let me use his set of abc1814's and the boat woke up and ran a 73mph pass Still very stable. Might be worth a try. Don't know why the struts are different but I would think they should be the same and something isn't right

Lucas- ABC props have been difficult to come by this summer, but supposedly more are due in shortly. What exactly are you not happy with concerning that picture of your struts? Is it that they're at two different angles? Im not sure what I'm supposed to see there.

Zelos twin hits 88.23mph with 3831 motors

Due to a few PM's wanting me to test the 3831's....well here you have it...I ran 88.23mph (142kmh) by the Dynamite logger and 87.6mph by the Garmin. Big thanks to the Propsmith Chris again! Video coming soon.

Thanks! Temps were 104° Esc and 106° motors. The ambient temp was around 68°. I only ran a couple laps on each run because of the unknowns. My back up run was 85.12mph (137kmh) after I had already ran 88mph on the same charge.

Here is the video of my speed run of 88.23mph (142kmh) with the NEW Dynamite 3831 Zelos twin motors. This was my first run with the new motors and I flipped on my second pass coming back into a slight wind at around 70mph. I have attached photos of the GPS logger software details at the end of the video and you can see that I hit my top speed of 88.23mph (142kmh) about ¾ the way on my first pass so this proves this boats capabilities with the new motors. Also, I believe from slowing down and stopping so quickly at the end of my first pass all the “water drag force” forced my left drive to move up significantly out of adjustment and helped cause the flip on the way back. My backup run after the flip (on struts out of adjustment on the same battery charge) was 85.12mph (137kmh). The highest temps I saw over my first test which was two or three passes each were 104° on the ESC & 106° on the motors (the ambient temp was around 68°). Last but least thanks to Chris Hoffmann (Dasboata) for the Awesome set of ABC 1716’s props!

That's was butter smooth on that first pass. What did you do if anything to your water pickups on the bottom? Pics if you have time.
