Took the boat out today this morning.
My setup specs:
-5000 mAh 2S 30c
-Stock prop
-Lipo cutoff
-High timing mode
I was shocked since the boat was as fast as a Shockwave 26 v3 brushless with a Nimh battery! I'm guessing I'm going 15 mph and that is slow IMHO. No sudden surge of power. I searched youtube for a shockwave 26 v3 brushless on stock prop on 2S with no luck at all.
Most of the videos I see on YouTube that run on 2S have an upgraded metal prop. I really need to see one run on 2S with a stock prop for comparison.
Any links on youtube that show a Shockwave 26 v3 on stock prop on 2S would be nice.
Thanks in advance guys!Comment

have you tried it with nihm's?i would run a 7cell just to compare. as far as vids for the v3 shockwave, most ive seen were with 3s and different props.maybe you should check your battery.you could try it with 3s and your new prop, just check your temps.keep us posted.Comment

I have yet to see a running video of v3 shockwave on 2S with the stock prop. I would be grateful if anyone can show me a link to that.
My first thought was the battery. One of the cells might be kaput. Have to check that tonight.
I don't have my new prop yet. Still waiting for the order to be processed.
On this run, my temps were excellent since the boat is running slow. Lol!
Will definitely keep you guys updated on this!Comment

The battery might be the culprit. I'll check the voltage on each lipo cell later tonight.
My 7-cell nimh needs to be recycled, so I basically have no choice now but to see a video of one with 2S on the stock prop.
I'll post a video tmrw so you guys can help and chime in on the problem as well.Comment

This is now my dilemma, I'm choosing between the Octura...
X640
-Diameter: 1.57"
-Pitch: 1.57" x 1.6 = 2.512"
---OR---
X642
-Diameter: 1.65"
-Pitch: 1.65" x 1.6 = 2.64"
STOCK composite prop (For reference)
-Diameter: 1.6"
-Pitch: 2.5"
Which Octura prop will be able to give the boat a faster acceleration and faster top speed? Will the X642 burn the ESC since it's slightly bigger than the stock prop and since it's metal, will the motor have a slightly harder time turning it?Comment

that video Lenny posted is of a Shockwave V2 with the 2900kv motor and a smaller prop.different setup that came stock back then.i run a x435 on my nitro Fastech.remember, the 1500kv motor that comes stock with the V3 is very torquey,so it can spin a larger prop with no issues.i'd stick with the 640,as its about as close to the stock prop in dimensions.later on,you can experiment with a 440.if you checked the battery, did you find anything wrong with it?Comment

I'm currently waiting for Steven Vaccaro, the offshore electrics rep to email me when a S&B x640 becomes available.

Btw, my 2S lipos were the problem. The voltage/cell should should be fairly close after getting it fully charged, but mine were too far apart. So they are basically not balanced.
The deans connectors were good after testing them. Thanks for telling me about that. That helped narrow the problem down to the battery.Comment
