I have ammo 2300kv with hydra 120, s220 prop and I can easily go 46mph with 3/4 throttle before my wires fried up LOL. I'm changing everything to thicker wires and I'm sure i can reach over 50. Oh yea get a trim tab and move forward your lipos! My SV performs so well after.
Well after adding the Ammo motor and 220 prop went 34.1mph. Not a bad increase in speed of 5.1 mph last week. Looking for some affordable lipo's to put
me over 40mph.
Got Lipo's, got to 40mph today. Lipo's and motor ran cool through the run.
Any sugestions for a prop with Ammo motor stock speed control and lipo's 5000 2s 25c's? Currently running a 220
Yesterday during testing I had my first roll over. Out came the fishing pole.
I think I will work on a recovery boat next. Have a Mean Machine on order
for my first build.
Well ordered the ammo motor prop and water jacket to start. Will be changing
to lipo's after I figure out which charger to buy. Any input ?
Thanks again, Ken
HEY MAN, COME RUN WITH ME ON FRIDAY. WELL GET YOUR BOAT IN THE LOW 50'S WITH MY BATTERIES AND THAT PROP AND STOCK MOTOR. YOUR PROBLEM IS THAT IS TOO BIG OF PROP TO USE WITH NIHMS. GO TO HOBBYCITY.COM FOR A CHARGER (SAME AS VENOM PRO 139.99) FOR 37.00 AND CHANGE. I DO BIG ORDERS FROM THERE ALL THE TIME.
Would love to but have to work. Iam now useing Lipo's and a Ammo motor and a 220 prop. Got to 40 MPH last sunday. Will try the 42/55 prop next.
Where are you at in AZ anyhow?
I keep hearing these boats go 35mph stock. After my first outing I changed the
prop to a 42/55 grim racer. Iam running 3800 Nimh EP packs and on the first run
with gps only managed 29mph. Should I expect more mph with this combo? Want to optimize this setup before doing more mods Lipo's Motor.
Thanks for the info.
Go with Li-Po batteries and stick with the stock prop until you get your set up corrected.

I ran 42 mph with the stock motor and ESC. I used 14 Intellect 4200 cells and a X642 propellor modified by Andy Brown. I want to break the 50 mph barrier now, so the next step is a 11L motor, better ESC and Lipos. I think this is the way to go....
PS! all electronics got really hot while spinning the 642, so the plastic wrapping on the batteries was about to melt when I ran out of power. My running time was nearly 10 minutes though
Stian L '75 - Norway - I did 59,4 mph with my SV 27
