Hi guys, I'll be running Ammo 2300kv,C.C Hydra 120A with 2X4S 5000mah lipo in parallel on my SV27. Need some advise on which prop shld i go for to get the max performance of this setup?
Coollio there are a few choices with your set up, i run a CF 42 and a Octura 642 which Steve sells here, if you have the money i would buy the balanced and sharpened 642 it is a real performer on the sv. the cf 42 is also good and cheap any bigger on the prop like a cf 45 kinda runs hot you have to wacth temps if you go any bigger than a cf 42 or 642. i also run a thrust bearing with the ammo motor. These are the only two props i run and our set ups are almost identical except i run a x-power 100 amp esc.you can also search the site there is plenty info here on props

Hi ibyte, Thanks for your recommendation! Btw do you think i need an external BEC for my set up?
Hey Hex, yes my 642 is detongued its perfect. Steves props are very professionaly done you wont be disapointed and the 642 runs really really nice with the ammo and is the best of all my props be careful with handling the prop not that its sharp its thin and can bend easy i use a seperate storage container just for it and i never leave props on my boat after running. coollio i am not sure if the hydra has a bec i am not familar with that esc but i know it is a very good esc better than the x-power i run. everyone has there choice set ups in regards to esc, props and batts we all know the sv secound name is flipper the set up both of you are going to run will make the sv live up to that name. the ammo motor is plenty motor and is balistic with the 642. i also use 20,25,30c 5000 to 6000 lipos and they all perform about the same. i use a thrust bearing with size #8 brass washers i use two to fill the gap you will see what i mean when you insatll the bearing, some people cut the shaft but the washers work just fine and i have them if you need them let me know. i also use a upgraded .150 flex cable that Steve sells hear and both are good upgrades. i do not use a secound turn fin like many people do i find the sv runs alot faster without it. transom water cooling is a must not a to do in my opinion. I have played with the sv for a long time it is a amazing little boat and well worth the money in and out. both your set ups will put grins on your faces
Just check and found that balanced and sharpened 642 is out of stock!!! Wonder when will steve restock these....
They take awhile to make and get bought up real fast when Steve has them in stock. Maybe send him a email let him know you would like one and buy me one to while you are at it
Which should be a better prop for the AMMO a 440 /3 blades sharpened and balanced or a x 640 sharpened and balanced ?
Not sure hex? the only three blade i used was the stock one and that was a bear to get the sv on plane. I have heard some people have had good results with the grim 3 blade. the 640 is a good prop i never worried about heat with the esc or batts when i used it.

If you are racing with that setup, you won't stay on the water when other boats chop it up.
When racing in Pmono with my Ammo-equipped SV, I found that a detongued 437/3 was my best prop...still GPS'ed @ 53.7. Still a handful in racewater, but I was able to drive it to several good finishes.
