How do you round the rudder for speed and handling?

I haven't tried both one after the other on the same boat to find out but by looking at it I don't see how the rounded leading edge is less drag, to me it looks like rounding it bluntens the leading edge making more drag, producing lift and probably stopping the area if the rudder behind the blunt section from working.Paul Upton-Taylor, Greased Weasel Racing.Comment

Actually, the flat bottom of a rudder creates lift...rounding relieves the lift.Comment

Here is what I have found.
Rounding the bottom removes the riding surface. I do this on all boats regardless of the type.
Rounding the leading edge to bottom (we call this knifing the blade) making a radii from the leading edge to the bottom creates lift in the corners.. the higher up you make the radii the more lift.
Its kind of like filing the leading edge back.. not all that desirable on most air suspended hulls.
In most cases this is BAD on a mono but can be used to tune a Hydros cornering speed.
